Re: AKs with QQ on board

Thanks everyone for the replies. I was almost certain that he had a Q (he actually had QTo) and I should have folded the river but I'm just not disciplined enough to do that as often as I should -...

Re: AKs with QQ on board

[ QUOTE ]
Has he folded the turn before? If so, the bet was probably fine. You have to call the raise and people often enough raise a J here on the turn to make a call ok, imho.

I'd...

AKs with QQ on board

Villain was 44/7/0.7 from 44 hands, he wasn't going to SD much and seemed an easy semi-bluff target.

Re: Flopped low set vs. 3 flush flop and a straight draw

I would raise and cap if possible as you are getting 2:1 to improve with two cards to come. As you say you also want to make the others pay for their draws.

Re: Starting to get very bothered....graph included

I had a very similar graph earlier this year. At the start of the downswing I stayed philosphical about it but as time went on I realised I was going into every hand with the assumption that I was...

Re: AQ capped preflop : Fold on the flop

My main worry on the flop would be getting a CR from SB but with an uncoordinated flop, a big pot and overcards, I'd call the flop and fold the turn.

Re: How to adapt to micro-limits?

speaking as a newbie myself... Last time I played at Party it was hard to find loose passive tables. PokerStars is better and also has a good choice of microlimit games. Play the opponents the way...

Re: Another QQ, this time on a coordinated board w/ checkraise

I'd have played it the same. The flop raise was worth it to try and push out the players behind you and to get an idea of what UTG+2 has at that point. On the turn he is saying pretty clearly that he...

Re: AQo; played too defensively?

Raise the turn. SB most likely has something like AT or KT. If he has an 8 he'll most likely 3-bet the turn but that would be ok as you'd still have pot odds to call it for the flush draw. I'd still...

Re: KQ

I'd have check raised the flop which might have pushed UTG out, then capped the flop. Turn and river same.

Re: QQ

Check and fold the flop. With that many players at that level someone will have Ax or Kx. Pot too small for the gutshot straight draw.

Re: AQs

Bet the flop to try for a free card. Fold the turn if villain bets.
