Re: 45 man turbos

Firstly, the CO flat calls when he should be pushing - that alone is suspicious. In turbos you'll often find big hands limped to try and get a stack behind to shove over trying to pick up dead money....

Re: $1, 45-seat tourney, AKs in SB vs UTG raise, B call.

I think a stop and go gets more value out of hands like Ax or small pairs that will release on some flops but might call the flop bet. That being said, I think at a $1 you're likely to get called by...

Re: X-post: STOP SAYING you are raising or betting for information!

[ QUOTE ]
In that respect, yes, a block bet is defensive and a value bet. However, it is also in part an information bet.

Re: Everyones willing to call all in ($50 added FPP tourneys)

You just have to be sure that all-in bets are being called. If you get AA the first hand and shove you might just pick up the blinds at a table with a bunch of reasonable players. I would still only...

Re: Standard flop shove with two pair?

[ QUOTE ]
I've lost most or all of my chips against limped, slow-played AA/KK in very similar situations. So what I want to know is, am I being outplayed here, or is this standard?

Re: Kinda OT: Should i take a semester off school?

Barry Greenstein would tell you to stay in school,

Daniel Negreanu would tell you to take the time off.

The only question left - who's hairline do you want?

Re: *Unofficial* Review Thread - stars 100r 1st place

Hand 113 - Good fold, you're UTG and will probably be OOP after the flop, so best to laydown now and do some laundry or something.

Re: AA early in tournament - best way to proceed

[ QUOTE ]
Depends on if you want to go broke in the second level of a tournament, and every time he did this (4 times in the past 2 orbits) he had 2 pair or better - and had busted each player...

Re: Satellite- No idea how to play this spot

[ QUOTE ]
Agree with the last couple of comments. Why risk it with a shove against maybe a PP or another race.

1) We're out of position, so taking...

Re: $11 45 on Stars - 88 UTG seven handed

My image was loose as the bubble just burst and I had been exploiting it mercilessly. I think I c-bet every time I open raised from the start of the tourney.

Fold PF.

I just made $20 on a side bet that this would be the first post.

93--Open folding JTo from 4th position. I'm about 33% fold, 33% limp, 33% raise here. Is this a matter of taste, or is this a pretty clear fold?

Re: Official review thread: Cleverbeans

As for 88 on hand 2, I normally raise 99 here but I let go of 88. With so many players to act behind me on the second hand, I'm likely to run into a calling station and then I'm OOP and it can be...

Re: 4th hour of $5 MTT

I think you have too many players behind you to make this shove, even if you have a good read on the original raiser. That being said, it's often the case with high blinds that players at this level...
