I didn't reed all the replies but I always bring three Cliff Bars with me. You can get a box of 24 at Costco for 18.99. They are tasty, good for you, and a clean eat.

Cheapest rooms are at Binions, but call and tell them that you are a poker player. I played for 8 hours and was comped my room on a tuesday.
