Re: Fall is upon us: your golf plans?

I plan on practicing (mainly short game) like hell this winter, although I say that every year. It just sucks to spend the first couple of months of spring trying to get back in the groove every...

Re: Leaning the swing without lessons? <newbe

I agree completely with this. Without the correct grip you're pretty much screwed from the beginning, in my opinion. Any teacher you get (if that does become available to you) who doesnt' look at...

Re: Ask me anything about golf

Are you from GA? Was wondering since you tried to qualify for the BellSouth. If so, we may know some of the same people.

Re: Lost Club Championship 22 holes. Should I have called penalty?

Man, I hate that he did that. I would have done what you did. Agree with the other poster in that he put you in a terrible position. For him to have been in that championship flight he should have...

Re: PGA Tour Card Question?

JTrout,
What year did you get through all stages of Q School. Just read John Feinsteins' book called Q School the 5th Major (or something like that). Great book for people who like reading that...

Re: I suck at putting...please help

Three footers. Place 4-6 balls in a circle around the hole approx. three feet. If you miss, start over until you make them all. Repeat. My business partner is the best putter I've ever played...

Re: Q for folks in Alabama and Georgia (driving directions advice)

You are exactly right. That drive across Alabama is the worst thing on earth.

Re: How long have you been playing?

5-6 Years. Played some before that, but was mostly a beer drinking contest. Got a membership almost six years ago, couldn't break 90. Usually mid 70's (index is 4.9) and play from blues 85%, back...

Re: ***Official US Open Thread (Oakmont)***

I agree with you. I'm wondering how Adam Scott will do since he seems to be playing good lately.

Re: ***Official US Open Thread (Oakmont)***

Can't wait to see just how tough Oakmont is going to play. Saw a brief clip of an interview with Robert Allenby yesterday and he thinks we'll see some players shoot in the 90's. I love watching golf...

Re: joining a club....worth it?

Depends on how much golf you play. Do you have any clients, family, etc. that can get any use from the facilities? I joined a private club five years ago and it was the best golf decision I've ever...

Re: What\'s the worst score you have taken on a single hole?

A 12 on the 16th hole- The Orchard G&CC in Clarkesville, GA in the club championship two years ago. Two balls o.b., one in hazard, and a four putt (or something like that, I try not to think about...

Re: Best way to learn

Without a doubt, get lessons. If you practice what you learn in the lessons I think you'll be shocked at the progress you'll make. Good luck.

Re: Is not believing in gay rights biggoted?

Marriage in this country is defined as being with one man and one woman. It's the same for everybody, straight, gay, polygamist, or any kind of freak that wants to marry someone or something. Is...

Re: ***OFFICIAL*** LOST Season 3 Episode 12 Discussion -spoiler free-

What was the Ayn Rand book Sawyer was reading towards the end? I don't pay as much attention to the show the way some do on here, but that stood out to me. Just couldn't make out the title.

Re: Cheapest nice rural place to live in the US ?

NE Georgia. Don't know about the "cheapest" in the U.S., but very affordable compared to other parts of the nation. Great golf, weather, best people on earth, easy drive to Atlanta, NC, SC. I'm a...

Re: Ivey vs. Corey Pavin golf bet

Ivey doesn't stand a shot at winning this, particularly if it's stroke play. In match play he could win a hole or two, but in stroke play it's much too easy for a 15 handicap or worse to blow up on...

Re: Once more on the minimum wage

My first post. With all due respect to the posters, everybody is missing the point. The minimum wage increase debate is simply a tactic in order to gain favors with the unions. Union contracts are...
