Re: Winrate vs. variance thread...how much would you pay to not lose?

I'd give up 5% of my hourly rate to eliminate variance. Figure if I had my bankroll invested instead of on the ready this would be a good trade off.

Re: AKs - where did I go wrong

You played it fine. Real tough to put villain on a big hand here, though such an odd spot for a bluff. Only hand that really makes any sense with his line is JJ. If he's tight he's not calling...

Re: 5-5NL exremely deep short handed

I'd call down and expect to have the bets of it.

Re: Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Your hand is garbage here. Easy fold. Wouldnt have called a bet in the first place.

Re: I stepped in buffaloo poo...

Hate calling the flop. You need to call river. You win here way more than the roughly 1/3 of time you need to break even.

Re: Bottom set vs good LAG

This board is way too scary to be trapping with bottom set. Reraise big on the flop and make him make a bad call with a straight or flush draw, TPTK, or whatever. As played easy call on turn.

Re: Raise or call vs Twin on river

What hands that you have beat can call a river reraise? Looks to me like a set, Ak, or a total bluff. Maybe a push gets him off AK, but I doubt it.

Re: Chicago area poker - this weekend

Anyone have any info on the 10-25 nl game at the old Trump? Looking to play next weekend and wondering if it's a good situation. I'm adequately bankrolled, but will only play if it is a weak game,...

Re: 5/10NL - Weak?

I think you're overthinking. Bet more on turn so that if you are check raised you can easily throw it away, especially without a diamond in your hand. Check behind on river is fine as you are going...

Re: NL$1k, calling for a split on the river

Easy call. Your good here 2/3 times, and the pot is laying you just worse than even money.

Re: So what the hell does this mean?

Push and feel good about it. You're good here the vast majority of the time.

Re: Spewtasm?

Don't see how this preflop play can be profitable unless you have a very tight image/opponents are folding too much pre flop.

I think bet on turn is more likely to get a fold than river bet. ...

Re: Busted Draw...good spot for river raise?

This is my second post in this forum that has gotten no real substantive responses. Granted, it has only been one hour this time, but as my posts moves onto the second page I fear it disappearing...

Re: common situation that i f\'ed up royally

Can't analyze this hand ignoring your awful call out of position pre-flop. This is where you got yourself into trouble. Once you get to the flop I much prefer betting out and folding to a raise, or...

Busted Draw...good spot for river raise?

Party 10-20 full ring. Villain and I both have 2k. I have logged around 3,000 hands with villain and he is a solid tag (VPIP-20, PFR-6, AF-2.5). I noticed that his aggression factor on the river...

Re: 10/20 multiway draw-heavy flop with a set

I rarely fold sets on the flop, but now is the time. Higher sets, a flopped straight, or Ac3c are only hands that make any sense with this line. You are way behind this range. I excluded the BB...

Re: Common Situation, what do you do?

I fold pre-flop for the very reason you need to post this. I am not good enough to win a lot with AQ heads up with a pre-flop raiser even with position if I have no reads.

Re: AA hand on a 5-10 table.

Standard pre flop raise should be at least 4 times BB. Don't worry about everyone folding. It rarely happens, especially if someone has already limped.

Played post flop perfectly. Wow are BB...

Re: Nice draw against tilting aggr 200NL 6max, spew?

If villain is tilting and you keep pushing him to fold, don't you think this is a likely time for him to call you light? If so, why not play a small pot until you hit your hand, and then pressure...

Re: Wynn 1/3 deepstacks - flopped a flush

I think this is a pretty easy call. If he raised with AsKs or AsQs or KsQs more power to him. Why would he play this flop that aggressively, and risk losing a lower flush or two pair type hand? ...

Re: 5/10 Bluffing at 4-straight board

Not sure if I like turn play, but on river I think this bet for sure has a positive expectation. Real tough to call here without a flush or straight, and he doesn't have either of those or a made...

Re: 5/10 River ZeeboThm CR

I don't think most players raise with a K on river here, but many players will call off their whole stack thinking that hero is trying to push them off of their well earned split pot. I'd push here...

Re: All-in on turn?

Really don't like flop play. This isn't a strong enough hand to slowplay (as evidenced by the fact that the turn blanked and you're not sure if you're slightly ahead or way behind). You've...

Re: Too tight here?

AA or a big king will call or raise even if you bet 3/4 of pot or more. Flush draws might call thinking they're still getting ok implied odds to bust you, etc. As is you have a hand that is fairly...
