Re: Question about Beating the Rake

Uh, after two weeks of playing 8 hours a day of a rake structure like that, you probably could have flown to vegas and gotten a room for a week at the Orleans, plus payed for the $12 ($7+5 tip) cab...

Re: How to play top set? PL$1/2

I don't like being in this spot. I don't push. I look for much bigger (and much clearer) edges vs players as you described. You are a little shy of re-draws which is sooo important in PL Omaha...

Leverage betting.

Can somebody explain to me the concept of "Leverage" betting used at high level deep stack games?

Or at least give a decent go at what they think it means.

Re: $8-$16 Hold\'em hand ... California style

Yea, once I identify his hand, I'm a big dog, but with 4 limpers making all those calls, I'm pretty confident I'm really only increasing my variance at this point, and on occasion I'll save that 1/2...

Re: Number of players dealt in affecting flush draws?

Thats not what I said.

What I said is that assuming standard distribution, on the remainder of the cards dealt out is not usefull information.

It's different in bridge when you are trying to...

$8-$16 Hold\'em hand ... California style

Hero is on the button with 7d6d and 4 limpers pre-flop. I raise. UTG limper re-raises and it TAG, I'm probably viewed as TAG, but I know this player and he playes pretty formula driven.

As I...

Re: What are some of the main flaws in this argument

A clearer definition imho is:

You are in a room with no windows and no doors and no instrument that can pass through the walls and you're trying to theorize whats beyond the walls.

There is no...

Re: What are some of the main flaws in this argument

It's binary. You can make the argument that it has always existed.

Verses spontaneously and purpose, no purpose. Something spontaneously arisen can inherit a purpose, from something elses...

I think, and somebody tell me if I'm grossly wrong. that with XX unkown cards dealt and YY remaining cards that yea, you can calculate the most probably distribution.

But is it useable...

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP

You're not going to pull off a check raise on the turn and have the winning hand here. You could C/C the flop, Check the turn, then value bet the river vs. AA, but with the low draw out there, you...

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP

Doesn't matter, unavoidable. Only way out was to C/R flop and get villian to fold. Once you C/C, you were doomed, unless deep stacked and could lay it down on the turn to a raise of a PSB.

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP

I'll probably check. Man in the middle rule for me. Give villian chance to bet and other limper chance to act. Yields the most amount of information. Given the nature of the game, the other...

Re: 3beting preflop in late position - a play I fell very strong about.

High limit yes, low limit no.

High limit, typical players have clues and respect raises and re-raises with oop marginal hands. Blinds can give up to re-raises and not feel like they are being run...

Re: $200/400 facing river C/R getting really good odds

I always ask in this situation why did villian call the flop and check the turn. Given the position, was Villian intending on C/R the turn? I think when I spike the A on the end, I'm happy to check...

Re: Deceptively Interesting River Decision

I'm going to think this through with my poker thinking process and write it down. Comments welcome.

1. (pre-flop) AQs, nice hand, out of position (SB), facing a raise from TAG player. Am I...

Re: kinda tilting, than after the session wanted input about this play.

Bad hand, bad position, bad flop.

1. The hand is bad. You need an ace on the flop for just about any chance for low, and that wrecks your kings. Of course you may from time to time win with...

Certain sites may certainly have th eIT infrastrure to detect pot jamming, whipsawing and the observable. But how about just plain old card sharing -- re-calculate your draws, your opponants draws...

Not that I particulary believe you, I think my post will be read with quite a bit of grains of salt. Let me ask you this. How many games are you spreading this win across? How many player accounts...

Re: Drawing to the nut low with counterfit protection, but no high draw?

You have a back door non-nut flush draw and a backdoor straight draw. In your favor is you can't be counterfitted.

You are about 15% to scoop and 75% for low, up against 3 typical hands that you...

Example would be I have nut low, first to...

Most players I see have two games. The game they play when they are winning or have won, and the game they play when they've been losing or have lost. In reality, your game should be based on table...

Re: prove higher level thinking to me

Simple concept, but I often wonder if there are only two outcomes, 50-50 that either your call or bet is wrong or right, How deep do you have to go in thinking to shade the odds in your favor.
