Re: Santa Ynez Wine Country - ideas, hints, opinions?

Kalyra is good. I like Sunstone's red wines, their cabernet is excellent. For picturesque, Bridlewood is amazing. Really a neat place. The Hitching Post is pretty good - wait times can get long on...

Re: how does the final harry potter end?

The pages I saw were pics from a bookstore employee who posted them on Slashdot. Looks like the hosting company took them down. Can't say 100% they weren't fakes but they looked pretty real. Looked...

Re: how does the final harry potter end?

I was going to link to the pics I saw of the last few pages, but they have been taken down. From memory though - basically nothing bad happens. Harry and Ginny have 3 kids - named Albus, James and...

Re: Venetian Poker Questions

Hard to say on a general basis, but the 2/5 NL crowd didn't seem nitty to me, though I only sat down for a short while. (I'm more of a limit player.) Friends said that the 2/5 was a good game.

Re: Venetian Poker Questions

Over New Year's, they had 3-4 $2-$4 tables running.

I loved the place overall. I was another one of the group that refused to stay at the Venetian because of no poker room, and will actively try...

Re: LSAT question

Testmasters helped me increase my score 12 points and got me a full scholarship. Well worth the money. The LSAT is a different enough test that if you don't understand something, just sitting there...

Re: Best Tortilla Chips (nomination thread)

So, how do you go about making your own? Do you need a deep fat fryer?

Re: Live at the Bike

I would pay if they would show more mid-limit games. Seems like every time I check it out it's 5/5 NL. Maybe limit is dead and I'm crazy, but limit tables are usually packed at Commerce. Being able...

Re: Hobbies that let you know people suck

[ QUOTE ]
What you just described sounds cool, especially if done with just map and compass. But how does this differ from hiking? Even geocaching with map and compass (orienteering?) would be...

Re: Hobbies that let you know people suck

I think I understand what Heater is saying. Getting excited about the plastic container stuff is indeed stupid. But for everyone else saying it's lame, try this on for size.

Re: Hobbies that let you know people suck

Heater, a lot of people who geocache do indeed suck. But some go for other reasons. I don't go often, (maybe 4-5 times a year) and I use it as an excuse to get outside and away and still have a goal...

Re: Tips for Waking Up in the Morning?

Melatonin works wonders. It may not work for everyone, but it's working well for me. Changed my life around. Some say it's a placebo, but I disagree. (Hey, even if it is, it's working!) Try it, it's...

Re: Train For A Marathon With Me

For what it's worth, the goal of starting from scratch to marathon in 16 weeks is very possible. I did it two years ago. It did take me about 5 and a half hours instead of a straight 5, and I did...

Send me a PM with more details. I'm trying to get a more regular game going myself, and I'm in OC.

Re: Sopranos 5/14

Sil's line really cracked me up. "And what of it?" (At least I think that was the quote.) His deadpan, slightly less emotional delivery really offsets the absurdity of some of the other characters. I...

Re: Despite what people say, live 4/8 does NOT play just like 2/4

Well, I haven't really found this to be true. At certain places in Vegas, the play at the $4-$8 is actually worse, because people are more willing to throw money around. The $2-$4 game is...

Re: Typical down payment on a condo

Hey Sossman, I'm not saying you're wrong about the PMI, in terms of traditional PMI. But I worked at Countrywide until 2 months ago, and anything over 80% LTV had their special PMI attached. It's not...

I want to get a regular game going in Orange County, CA...

I'm looking to get a regular game going in Orange County, CA. I prefer limit, but will consider no-limit. I live in Anaheim, and would be willing to travel if necessary. I have nice chips, so that's...

Re: Best LSAT preparation?

Testmasters is the only answer when it comes to LSAT prep. If you DO ALL THEIR WORK, you will be exhausted and yet happy with your higher score. I kicked my own ass and ended up with a 172. It is not...
