Re: Open limp, ring games (no play content)

medium/big suited connectors(A10s - 89s), medium pp's, kj off in some games. i consider typical to mean 30-45 dollars an hour expectation.

Re: Strai Flus

I don't bet this into three players because you don't have the best hand 55% of the time you are called, particularly since loose players routinely peel with back-door flush draws.

Re: Why folding is correct.

So the effective odds to play the hand to the river are going to be greater than 4 to 1?
Heads up with one bet on flop and turn is 2.5 to 1. If three of your opponents stay on flop and turn and...

Re: Stud hi - how quickly do you give someone credit for roll-ups?

In my limited experience (20/40 at commerce) it has been a burried pair (aa or kk usually) and not rolled up. but the 20 game at the commerce is a tight passive game so some people do this in an...

Re: Jackpot coming to Venetian

I play 25/50 limit HE at a small los angeles casino with a 40k jackpot and i believe it is good for the game. First and foremost it attracts players with self-weighting strategies that play...

Re: QTs hand vs. Koko

Yes he would limp with AK here. Joker summed it up well. He plays weird.

Joker - I think that betting is your best option as I think his range is skewed towards flushes and the board pairing...

Re: How many ways did I butcher KT?

In the california games i play, which are the same ones joker plays, raising for a free showdown in this situation is common. i.e., the only one who has bet/raised pre-flop and flop checks the turn. ...

Re: Weird hand. $20/$40 Stud High.

Re: A couple $30/$60 hands from today.

Hand One: You should fold to the re-raise on 3rd since your hand is not live. On fourth you caught a straight flush card and he wants you to put money in when your behind so he checks. If he bets...

Re: Getting bigger all the time

Though I agree that the 10/20 6 max games are still very good and beatable the $3 rake doesn't allow anyone to beat it for 3BB/100. My winrate decreased by 1.2BB/100 (2.6 to 1.4)with the rake...

Re: Too hot, too cold, or juuuust right?

Do you fold if he checkraises the river Josh? I think this is a tought spot but I would expect a bet here to be slightly positive in the long run. Unfortunately two of the hands you beat improved on...

I moved to L.A. 20 months ago and have found the transition to be not to hard. It really depends on what you want for your social life. L.A is huge and has all types of people so it can be hard to...

Re: Can someone put this guy on a range of hands?

I think a very likely hand for him is Ax and this player should be calling down with that 100% of the time and if aggressive and thinking (i.e., believes you can lay down an ace)he will 3-bet here. ...

Re: Because I feel like pissing you off

No, but they do it more commonly with a medium pair rather than AA. Heads up they maintain their deception with AA and don't reraise and when they don't get the multi-way pot they wanted they play...

Re: Turn decision that I don\'t think is as obvious as it seems....

You've given no description of the game. Was it playing loose, i.e. would it be correct to limp up front with A8 suited or 98 suited. Also, what do these winning players think of you? Is there any...

Re: Update: 3/23 Morton\'s trip report and some poker

Hand One, the loose passive small blind will end up bringing the big blind in too often to try and steal with K6o. Wait for a hand with more value before stealing in that situation.

Also, your...

Re: KJs hand I wasn\'t happy with

if hero's hand is good 3% of time when calling the 3-bet, than c'r/fold and c'r/call have the same value.

Re: Taking the lead - 20/40 live

Hand 2 just let go on the turn unless you have a read on the opponent as weak tight.

Hand 1 don't play preflop unless the UTG is bad and will lose lots of money with marginal hands.

Good luck,...
