Open shove the first time around. As played call.

Re: $10/27 PS. QQ in BB w/ 4 limpers

Just make a standard 3x + 1 raise as lev suggests. If you've been active it might be perceived as a steal over weak limpers and you may get some action. If not then you still chip up a nice pot and...

I am really new to all this. Thanks for all the advice everyone! Yeah I have really noticed how bad the variance is for the tournament play. I guess I will try to grind it out in the low...

Re: Do u go broke here???? Whats your play ???

Because of the loose callers bloating the pot, when you flop TPTK you have to get it all in on the flop in a $2 tournament.

Re: $4/180 - Final heads up hand

Calling is fine preflop. Hero is getting over 3:1 to see a flop and will be in position postflop. Per Harrington in general you should never open fold at heads up.

Re: Would you consider laying this down?

PSB the flop the first time around. As played get it all in when the action comes back around. You're ahead of KJ, KT, KQ and JT. If you're behind to a flopped straight then you have a redraw to full...

Re: 5NL: did i have +EV with KQs or was it just a rubbish move?

Preflop I would just fold the first time around in early position to the UTG raise. I'd probably fold the second time around as well to the 4bet since it looks likely to end up all in preflop.

As...

Re: Tournament Outrage! an addon before the first level....with a twis

Electronic dealing is right around the corner. You sit at a regular live table against other live players but your cards and chips are electronic like online. Some card rooms in the US are already...

Re: KK, + dry pot + deepstack overcall

That's a dangerous flop to be giving free cards. BB's range is pretty wide for a preflop overcall with the pot odds. You need to bet this flop. BB only has slightly more than a PSB in his stack on...

Re: NL5 TT in the BB multiway line check

I agree with Alobar about preflop, though if it's an "everyone is gonna call" table, then I'd probably still put in a raise, just a small pot sweetener type raise to $0.20 or so in order...

So with an M of 4 and an 82% chance I have the best hand at this moment I think preflop shove is the best play here.

Re: Possible dilemma in the late stages

With an M < 5, I'm personally open shoving 88 from any position.

In 3rd position with 88 and 7 still to act there's a 17.6% chance someone still to act has an overpair. I calculated using this...

NL5 TT in the BB multiway line check

Preflop with the large number of limpers I decided not to raise since it would have been a bloated flop out of position with likely overcards.

On the flop there's an overcard and I check leaning...

I'd guess his opening range consists of JJ-AA, AQ-AK.

$5 NL AK vs shortie ep raise

I always 3bet AK in position over a standard 3x or 4x pfr. In this case UTG+1 is short with only 38 BB.

UTG+1 hasn't done anything remarkable to this point. He bought in short and has lost some...

Re: Second pair and nut flush draw OOP

I would just fold Tiffany's hand KJs preflop in early position with deep stacks.

Re: What happen to PokerStars? Massive Fish invasion?

Re: PS 33 10G Easy resteal w/ 88?

The mp3 raise is pretty weak. It looks like he's trying to take a stab at the big blind money because he is sitting out, while leaving himself room to fold to a shove.

Because BB is sitting out I...

Re: $65 Live MTT bubble play with QQ

I would have just shoved the first time around with QQ. If he is slow playing KK-AA then he's getting my stack.

Re: Help a tournament newbie out...

This whole hand is fine. Preflop raise is OK. With all the cold callers you only have about a PSB left on the flop and with an overpair you have to bet.

Since any meaningful flop bet pot commits...

Instead it was pretty...
