Re: AQ preflop line check against tight player, $200 NL

Well, when I said a big pair I meant TT+, and I do have position on him. Just checking....

AQ preflop line check against tight player, $200 NL

Villain is a very solid player, almost always has a big pair or AK when he raises preflop. I don't even think I've ever seen him raise AQ.

Stacks: Hero $200 (UTG +2)
Villain, $170 (UTG +1)

Re: A stupid poker stove question

And now when it's heads up and someone open shoves for 120 000 big blinds and his range is QQ+, and I fold KK, I'll understand the math behind it.

A stupid poker stove question

If you enter your hand into pokerstove as KK, then give your opponent the range of QQ+, your equity is given as something like 49.9995%. For the life of me I can't figure out why it wouldn't just be...

Re: How do people work out Ev to such an exact extent??

Pokerstove is free and very usefull. But it's pretty damn hard to enter in the information during a hand fast enough, especially if you're multitabling. But try to guess what you think your pot...

Re: 3 barrel bluff

No obvious draws missed, but I'm sure this is fine sometimes to mix up your play. Unless he hit the flop hard he probably doesn't like his hand that much. If he calls with K 7 or something make a...

Re: AK 3bet pot flopped trips

I say bet the flop like 95% of the time.

When I slowplay, it's either to let my opponent hit a good second best hand, or to induce bluffs from a maniac or very aggressive player. I don't slowplay...

Re: 1/2: Playing JJ really passive

I usually reraise pre but if I'm just calling, which is often fine, I raise that flop bet to about $55. I want to define my hand as reasonably strong and see how he responds to that. If UTG...

Re: A high call on river?

River call is standard. I would only fold against a complete nit who never bluffs.

Straddling 3 handed

When it gets down to 3 handed does it become correct to always straddle? You get to have the button when you do it, so it seems worth it to me. But I wonder what you guys think.

I recently...

Re: might aswell post this hand.. 400nl but probably simple??

I shove on that river given his check. He probably doesn't have much and will fold but he might look you up with a weaker hand.

I love the flop call to induce further bluffs / try to suck out if...

Re: Live $600 NL, 10 handed, preflop decision with 88

For people saying shoving is terrible, pokerstove gives my eights 45 % equity against the range of AT+, 77+ and KQ. Even with zero fold equity, jamming is +EV because of all the money in the pot. ...

Live $600 NL, 10 handed, preflop decision with 88

I have about a $400 stack at this point and the PFR has me covered.

I'm in the big blind with 8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif.

UTG raises to $30 and four people call...

Re: Marijuana and Poker: are they compatible?

When I play high I find I'm more relaxed and don't go on tilt as much but I also find myself making looser calls, especially on draws. It impairs your judgement a little.

It's probably best to...

$200 NL, kinda deep paired AK.

Stacks: Hero $500
UTG $350
Button $100

Note that blinds are $2-4.

Reads: UTG is a somewhat weak player. He will call fairly large bets with something like top pair...

Re: $100 NL, 3 handed, it\'s a spilt or I\'m screwed

Yeah you guys are right, I can't fold here. This post probably belonged in BBV, lol.

But lets say there's a 10% chance he has KQ. (I think this is reasonable because he must have a K, and his...

Re: $100 NL, 3 handed, it\'s a spilt or I\'m screwed

Isn't this how a lot of fish play when flopping the nuts? Call, call, huge overbet? I mean I did call but I really feared KQ.

Why is there only 2 Q's left? And why would I try to induce a bluff...

Re: NL100 QQ in blind battle vs unkown

Against an unkown I call. (I tend to assume people are fish at these stakes until I learn otherwise.)

This doesn't look like a set to me. I think this is JJ or 99 often enough.

$100 NL, 3 handed, it\'s a spilt or I\'m screwed

Blinds are $1-2.

Stacks: Hero (SB): $280
Button: $330
SB: $24

Button is not a very good player but not horrible. He is quite loose and aggresive. He shoved a lot...

Re: Tilt Monster Chap. serious problem.

Two suggestions:

1) Move down to where you won't get so upset if you get stacked a few times.

2) Try to quit playing before you're on tilt. If you take a really bad beat or two, call it a...
