Re: River bluff, is this just spewing? 100r

Give up after the flop.

Once you check the turn the river bet looks like a bluff overbet. If he has an Ace he'll call, b/c he thinks his A4 will chop.

I'm not sure if I like opening this hand...

Re: A goofy way to play a hand

I didn't raise BTF b/c if I were reraised I would pretty much have to fold. If aggressive players were behind me to act I don't play the hand.

Raising the flop is probably the best play, but...

A goofy way to play a hand

$1000 live buy in event. Start with t2000. It's round 2 with blinds of 25/50.

Very loose player in small blind. Big blind hasn't shown any hands. I'm in the hijack seat with 4d5d. I open...

Re: Two Live Overpair vs. Flop Shove Scenarios

Hand 1: good read, good call, bad luck

Hand 2: You flopped gin, unless the villian catches runner runner for a flush he's drawing mighty thin. Calling and letting him bet the turn and/or river...

Re: Two Live Overpair vs. Flop Shove Scenarios

I probably shouldn't speak for Nath, but I think he meant that the preflop raising and reraising would eliminate hands that could outflop a big pocket pair.

Re: Two Live Overpair vs. Flop Shove Scenarios

Hand 1 is pretty close and my default mechanism is to fold.

Hand 2, the reraise from the small blind, makes the hand pretty transparent. Unless villian is exhibiting fifth level thinking, I would...

Re: Two Live Overpair vs. Flop Shove Scenarios

The preflop action will elminate hands that outflop him.

Re: Sick satellite KK spot

I have never folded KK BTF, but folding seems to be closer than most people think. I have no idea who these players are, but assuming they are good, the first raiser should have a very narrow range,...

Re: Turning Stone 550 ESPC, Bad Spot with Huge Draw

If we know Ansky will reraise and old guy calls we have an easy call.

What happens if we call and Ansky folds? We're getting a lousy price on our call and we'll probably have a difficult turn...

Re: Turning Stone 550 ESPC, Bad Spot with Huge Draw

Calling may not be the best play. We are only gettin 2:1 on our call and we don't know what Ansky is going to do.
We don't know if Ansky will reraise and if the old guy calls.

Re: UTG raiser on K86A board

The Ace is a good card to bluff. Unless the villian is a total idiot I don't see how the Ace could have helped him.
It's unlikely he's slowplaying a set or AK. If he calls a turn bet triple...

Re: QJs reraised by short stack

I would open push if I were to play this hand.

I would play this hand if I felt the table dynamics were
favorable.

Re: Stars 22-1r-1a

I play live more than online, but there are a few live players who I have played with for years who I would fold
this in a heartbeat. Online with my limited ability to
focus and strong desire to...

Re: Stars 22-1r-1a

Barring any reads I could be talked into folding, but given
your description call and suck out against villians Aces or Kings.

I would expect villian most of the time to have a medium
pocket...

Re: Stars 109 FO, Level 2 Weird Spot

I would fold. Unless villian is an idiot it should be transparent that you have AK with your flop check. I doubt very much villian has KQ, KJ, etc. The only logical hand that he may have that you...

Re: $1000 Mega Satellite: AQo

I don't think the results really matter that much. I figured I'm way ahead of his overall range and I was relatively short stacked and I needed chips.

But for the record, I pushed, the big blind...

$1000 Mega Satellite: AQo

$1000 Mega Satellite at the Bike. 162 runners. We start with t2000 in chips and 16 people get WPT seats.

There are around 40 left. UTG + 1, with blinds of 300/600/75, moves all in for t2600. He...

Re: Hand from a few Sunday Millions ago

How do you possibly sense weakness with the flop call? Not everyone will raise with a draw or a pair in this scenario.

I don't like the turn bet. All hero has is a weak Ace high. The only hand...

Results

I decided to push on the river and villian timed out and folded. Retrospectively I believe my play was pretty dumb but I guess it's better to be lucky than smart. With the board pairing unless I'm...

Re: Three Barrel???

Of course it's a horrible card but if I check, unless villian is a bigger idiot than me, I'll lose virtually 100% of the time. Is it possible for me to take him off his hand? Normally I would check...

Three Barrel???

Bodog.

600 6 handed NL, villian and I have around $600 each.

I probably have a pretty tight image. I open raise from the button with 45s to $19. Small blind calls. Big blind folds. Small...

Re: Simple hand vs Robert Williamson, WSOP ME day 1.

This hand illustrates the value of position, esp. against a
name player. If you lead on the turn or river, then what is your plan if you are raised?

Re: WSOP ME day 1, worst turn card ever.

Preflop I guess your play is ok. I'd prefer having a slightly better hand and also in most scenarios if both blinds call you'll be first to act assuming the raiser bets first, although this did not...
