Re: 5/10 Play this flop

Fold. The only thing I like about your hand is the bd flush.

There is a decent chance there will be a raise behind you on this board with all these players. Paying 1 bet on the flop may be...

Re: I get isolated, a draw, and tricky

Throw me in the flop fold camp.
You're outs are tainted. I give you 1 for the bd flush and 4 for your pair outs. You have almot no fold equity on this board.

Re: Standard JJ hand?

Flop looks good.

Raising the turn is no good here. You will probably get 3-bet, and will be forced to call as a huge dog.

River is tempting because sb could have something like T8, but it's...

Re: Top Pair Isn\'t What It Used To Be

Why did you call the flop 3-bet if you planned on folding the turn?

Re: Berate me

I'm just going by the read you gave.

You make it sound like he is somewhat normal with his pf 3-bets even though his opening range is light. I would think 44-22 are unlikely, but 66 is something...

Re: \"Donking\" into someone

I wouldn't get to worked up about how loosely or incorrectly the phrase gets thrown around. It's just a phrase, and does not really imply that villian is making an incorrect play. I agree with you...

Re: TT otb versus likely steal

Hey Gilbert,

I'm a little confused. Why do you feel like the call-call line is throwing away bets? The same number of bets goes in the pot either way, only we are gaurunteed to see the river and...

Re: TT otb versus likely steal

I think those hands make up a pretty large portion of his range. Enough that I don't think we're ahead enough on the turn to raise and then bet the river if checked to. That's why I like the...

Re: Berate me

I would fold the river.

People usually won't bet Ace high hands here, so I don't think you split all that often. The only hands that I'm concerned about are 66/44-22, but I don't think he has...

Re: TT otb versus likely steal

Hey psu,

I meant the times that you do get 3-bet...not overall. Obviously it is lower that 0.4BB/hand, since you won't get 3-bet all that often here.

Anyway, the points I was trying to make...

Re: TT otb versus likely steal

[ QUOTE ]
Yes we do. We gain it against hands like A T, A 9, K Q, and a bunch of other hands just like this that I won't bother mentioning who aren't overly likely to bet the river if they miss and...

Re: TT otb versus likely steal

Ok, he may have As7s, but that is a pretty slim possibility. I think there's even a lower chance he plays two overcards with spades this way, but it doesn't really matter.

The problem is...

Re: TT otb versus likely steal

If our opponent plays a flush draw this way, he'll likely bluff the river when he misses. Since we don't plan on following up our turn raise with a river bet, we don't "charge" the flush draw any...

Re: TT otb versus likely steal

Hobbs,

Can you explain why raising this turn is better than calling.

Thanks!

Re: TT otb versus likely steal

I don't think this better than calling the turn and calling the river.

It's not very likely that CO is making this play with overs, and if he is, he's probably calling anyway (and may even donk...

Re: Standard?

The Th on the board and the Kh in your hand really limit the number of cold/calling hands that have you beat here. AhQh is one hand. Ah9h is another small possibility. AhJh and QhJh are smaller...

Re: a hypothetical drawing situation

I vote call.

The other two scenarios aren't very appealing.

Re: TP Against a Bad TAG

I wouldn't have put myself in that position.

I would have c/r'd the flop and went from there.

Re: 99 haunts my dreams

I call pf too. It sucks that there's a player between you and the pf raiser, but what can ya do. Also, I think at least 1 of the limpers comes along for the ride, sometimes 2. I don't like pushing...

Re: No Mercy!... or No Brains? Which is it?

Flop is good. You're pushing an equity edge, so you're not losing any money here.

Turn is good. Only 3 players. You have some FE and you will call a bet anyway. Plus it's not very likely you...

Re: very marginal hand

Is his WTSD # low, or you just haven't seen him show down much during the session?

I hate these situations. I think the worst thing you can do is check/call.

Re: please help me get away from this hand.

The 3-bet pf is fine if you have FE against the limpers. Gernerally though, people who limp pf like this in 6-max games are loose/bad and will call a 3-bet. I don't like buliding large pots OOP with...

Re: complex hand from session review (misplayed on every street)

I would have checked the turn and folded the river.
If you raise, what does UTG put you on? Very easy for him to steal this pot with something like AJ.

Re: Jack Hi =/= SD... raise

I think this works a lot here. He could have a busted flush draw, but his high card beats yours. His play doesn't seem like a 4 or a Q. I think you see an 8 or a busted flush here a lot.

Re: Blind Defense Hand Flops Bottom Pair

Let him keep betting at you. People do weird things HU, and I don't trust this guy not to 3-bet or donk or do something weird with air.

It doesn't really matter who does the betting. If he keeps...
