Re: Interesting 3 bet hand, street by street

I think you're getting way too fancy for these micro stakes. Fold preflop and fold on the flop.

Re: Is this spewy?

Yeah this is spewy. Somehow you got 100 BBs into the pot with a flush draw on a paired board at NL50.

There's no shame in folding preflop, even if the guy is 50/20. A lot of people might...

Re: 25nl - turn decision with KQs

[ QUOTE ]
If I had a read that villain was really tight or it was higher limits I would fold preflop but generally speaking I feel folding KQs at 25nl, even though I am OOP, is a lil weak tight.

Re: 25NL: AA facing all in on flop

Raise slightly more preflop, about 6-7 BBs. The 4x+1 rule applies when you have position, but you need to scale it up a notch when OOP.

Lead the flop. And yeah, I probably get it all in here,...

Re: 2 50NL videos - Reverse-Tutorials...

Thought you played a solid, aggressive game for the most part. With the Q5s hand, I thought you might have been a little optimistic about your pot odds. You weren't getting -quite- 2:1 on your...

Re: Pocket 2\'s, set on flop, boat on turn, somewhat slow play

I agree; bet the turn. Villain called a PSB on the flop, so he'll be interested enough to call a bet on the turn. If he's on a flush or straight draw, he won't like the board pairing, but betting...

Re: PNL Study Group Day 5: Pot Control

Here are two examples where I tried putting pot control into practice, but I'm not sure if my timing was appropriate. Should I have been trying to protect my hand? This is definitely a tricky...

\"Big\" hand facing scary turn bet

Villain is on the loose side, both preflop and postflop. Don't have a good read on his aggression level yet.

Re: Lets play in the dark and discuss hand ranges

Q1) Villain 2 probably has a flush 55% of the time, a straight 15% of the time, two pair 20% of the time, and some random bluff 10% of the time. (Pulled those numbers out of a hat but they seem okay)...

Re: did i miss a value bet here? should this have been played differen

Raise more preflop.
Choose 2+2 from the Format menu when you convert hands.

Against some villains you can value bet this river for like $2.00, but without a read a check is probably fine.

Re: Big draw in bb, nl25, what to do?

Check-folding isn't an option on this river. Your only concern on the river is to check/call, check/raise if villain doesn't go all in, or to open shove yourself. Since you've already checked,...

Re: for some reason.. need to be told i made a good fold.. lol

Here are my reasons for c-betting

1) I don't want to give a free card to KJ, KT, JT, 22-88
2) There's no reason to believe villain will try a bluff with 78s or something
3) Only two aces and...

Re: Overpair with effective stacks of 2x pot

Well I did crai and ran into AA. Coming from a tourney background, I wondered if I'm attaching too much value to overpairs and top pair and such. I definitely am in some of the hands I've been...

Re: for some reason.. need to be told i made a good fold.. lol

Why didn't you bet the flop? If you thought your hand was bad then, it's bad on the river, too.

Overpair with effective stacks of 2x pot

I'll probably have my own question answered once I read the TMC chapter in PNL (just finished REM), but I'll go ahead and post anyway. Villain is pretty new to the table so no reads.

Ultimate Bet...

Re: 25nl AA crazy action

You'll get plenty of action betting $1.50 preflop, which is my standard raise after a limper.

Nice fold on the turn.

Re: KQo UTG...

FWIW, KQo has about 25% equity vs five random hands, more than its fair share. I generally raise for value UTG.

Re: NL50 JJ

If villain is bluffing, he's bluffing with one pair with JT or something, and you'd think he'd check most of those hands down. Expect to see two pair, a straight or a flush >70% of the time here....

Re: 50NL - 75o flops two pair, line check

I can't imagine SB going for a check-raise bluff here. I really felt like he had 89, too.

Re: Did I play my KK to passively??

I recommend a larger raise preflop, probably 8 BBs. You're charging them not only to outdraw you, but to enjoy their positional advantage. You should still get some action at these stakes.

Also...

2nd pair, weak kicker vs a loose, fishy player

Villain is something like 55/5/1.5 over 40 hands. He's won a few hands from me where he'll call my PFR and c-bet, then I'll give up on the hand. We checked it down in one such hand where he turned...
