Re: $500 HU on FT. Mis-click raise saves me the pot

I figure he puts you on a King and raises with an attempt to represent an Ace.

Re: $50 NLTRN - two pairs vs possible straight

I doubt he's got a straight, that would've meant calling pre-flop with 24 - is villain that loose? To me it seems like he's got an Ace, maybe 2 pair, and is worried about the straight draw. A2 or A4...

Re: pf with aa nl cash

I'd probably reraise to 300. I think that way you'd get pushes from JJ+ and maybe AK/AQ, plus calls from cards that might fold to a push (eg. A10, KQ, etc). Hopefully he'll get a piece of the flop...

Re: limcash a hu session vs a reasonable player.

Your net profit for this session was $1.25? And you had to risk £80 to win it? That rake's horrendous, I'd stick to SNGs, surely they're more profitable?

Re: 200NL cash TP + OESD turn decision

It's tricky with no reads, I'd guess he's got a K or maybe 2 pair. I don't fancy him as betting a flush draw (unless he's got a Kh as part of it). I'd probably call this and hope for a...

Re: NLTRN end game strategy, BB=100

Google SAGE and have a look at that (though it's more useful for higher blinds).

Re: $11 HU NLTRN dispute

He can't spell the word losing for one thing. And he sounds like a whiny dick.

I think there's definitely fold equity there, especially if he has something like A6 or A7 and is scared of A w/...

Re: 10$ HU SNG

Difficult to say without having seen previous hands, but it looks like he's got a 6 or a 7 or maybe something which gave him a draw from the flop, 8 9, 8 10, or nightmare scenario of 9 10.

Pot is...

Re: NLTRN Stars ($6+0.25) Turbo 3 hands vs tight

Yeah, you probably would have to call a shove in hand 2 if it came to that, but I'd guess villain is more likely to call(?), giving you the chance to outplay him on the flop.

I mostly sit first. The sharks are usually the ones who check you out and if your ROI is positive will avoid you, so the people who do sit with you are normally donks. I hate waiting for...

Re: NLTRN Stars ($6+0.25) Turbo 3 hands vs tight

Hand 1 - Seems fine if you think villain is likely to fold to more aggressive play, presumably you managed to take half his stack? (Hold on, looking at Hand 2's stacks, did you split the pot?)

Re: Min raise on the button...

Typically players win a larger %age of pots in position, so maybe there's an argument that to arbitrarily increase the value of these is EV+? But I wouldn't say it's optimal strategy.

As far as...

I always sit first.

Some unsolicited advice... I wouldn't sign in first when playing at higher levels, like the 55s. I'd advocate waiting for a chump to sit down in the...

Re: $5NL sng marginal push?

M is about 16. If you'd raised to 100 or so there'd be a fair chance of a fold (against some opponents) without having to risk your whole stack.

Re: preflop - worth a gamble? NLTRN

[ QUOTE ]
I don't think calling the Sb or making a small raise is an option with current stack vs blind level

[/ QUOTE ]

Not even as a gambit to induce a shove?

Re: preflop - worth a gamble? NLTRN

He might not call a shove with weak holdings, but if you call would he be likely to shove? What if you make a small raise?

Re: preflop - worth a gamble?

Actually I think this would be a marginal fold according to SAGE.

If he's doing it every hand then you'd need to work out what the chances are of having a stronger hand next time and whether or...

Re: NLTRN $20 Hand dump

Hands 1, 2 & 5 - Folding 1 & 2 and waiting to pick a spot to reraise seems solid play. I'd agree with Raiseren1 re the bet size & Soop on calling down, reraising river (depending on the opponent).

Re: Building a roll playin h2h (HUSNG)

If you want to make a living playing HU, I reckon the long term goal should be a 60% win rate at $100 SNGs, or maybe even higher. To do this I think it's more sensible to move up levels once you're...

Re: +EV or not?(HUTRN)

Ok, so it's +EV to push and I see the merits of that play, but it's also +EV to call, when you consider the implied odds.

120 chips to call gives you a 12/47 chance of hitting and taking down a...

I was big blind in this hand, I related it from the villain's POV. So he was reraising with AA when there were many, many hands that would beat him (any K, flush or straight) and next to nothing he...

NLTRN 30

Here's an interesting hand, a lesson in how not to play pocket rockets. I was the big blind in this, but thought I'd relate it from my opponent's POV.

Blinds are 10 & 20

small blind (A...
