Why Pot Limit and not No Limit

Just wondering why the big bet version of Omaha is always Pot Limit and not No Limit. Thanks!

Re: 600 NL flopped set.

I think C/C is more profitable for both Turn and River, better to excercise some pot control especially with the river card. Very few hands you are beating are calling even if it's less than PSP.

NL200: flop top 2 in raised pot

According to PT, I've played a little with villain at both NL400 (280 hands) and NL200 (550 hands) and have him as a showdown muppet at both stakes. I don't actually remember him at all though.

Re: NL400: I fold AA for less than a PSP

[ QUOTE ]
OP, if this hand would've been at lower limit, would you have played it the same?

[/ QUOTE ]
At lower levels, I tend to give a complete unkown a little less credit for being solid.

Re: NL400: I fold AA for less than a PSP

[ QUOTE ]
Against a 75BB stack and an SPR < 5, I stick it in on the flop all day, unless I have a read that the villain is really passive/nitty.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, it's kind of borderline here...

whats the problem with just sticking it in on the flop? guy only has 75 BB and is an unknown.

Re: NL400: I fold AA for less than a PSP

Reads on villain would really make this easier to play. By calling his flop raise, I'm in a tough spot on the turn either way. I realize this, but I think it's better than re-raising preflop as that...

Calling is worsest option imo.

[/ QUOTE ]

U sure about this?

I think folding or calling on the flop is best. Can AJ, KJ, QJ call a reraise on this flop? If I raise, I think I...

Re: Borgata NL 2/5 - Flop jointed straight in limped pot

Perhaps my terminology is wrong. I'm familiar with Cloutier's "I flopped the joint" line, but I always called a straight like this "jointed". Is there another term? Probably, but I can't think of...

Borgata NL 2/5 - Flop jointed straight in limped pot

Saturday night at Borgata. NL 2/5, about half of the players have at least $800 stacks. I just sat down and this is my first hand. I don't frequent Borgata and don't know any of these players.

With villain's PF range so small, I don't think 3 bet PF OOP is a good play. See a flop and take it from there I think.

check raise that and prepare to shove.

[/ QUOTE ]

i considered CR on the flop but I don't agree with "prepare to shove". Look at villains stats and UTG range.

400NL AKs in BB vs UTG raise from regular

Villain is a regular (and a winner). $16 is his standard opening raise.

He is VP$IP 14.46% / PFR% 8.63% / WtSD 20.63% / WaSD 56.83 / BB/100 +6.38 over 5,000 hands

His UTG raise range is...

Raise to about $66 and fold to push?

Re: 400NL: AQ OOP on A high board vs aggression

[ QUOTE ]
If you 3bet this preflop and then lead with the ace on the flop, it is a completely different hand.

I do see a lot more 3-betting PF at 400NL FR than 200NL FR. Therefore...
