Vegas TI Donkament - 2 pair on flush draw
Let me paint a picture and hopefully encourage some responses related to variation in play and how to profit whilst mired in a donkament. (I apologize for the formatting)
I'm early in a 40-person...

Re: Players in Your Game Getting Angry...
Psychologically speaking, this kind of behavior is a recognition by the offending player that he played like an idiot. He's projecting.
A recent hand that pissed me off: turn card gives me two...

Too funny: Home Game Jaw-Dropper
Frankly, in any situation, I'm not one to lament my bad beats. They're just variance. I'm actually posting this one to be laughed at because I was drooling at the thought of taking all the villain's...

Re: Can someone explain?
I bet everyone here understands and empathizes with your thinking. I know I do. You just can't let your frustration with somebody else's bad play dictate your play. This happens most often as you sit...

Re: Nut Straight - $1.25 Double Stack
I will humbly point out that Dunkman is clearly beyond my level in terms of his thinking, although I'm pleased that we came to the same answer. I'm close!
Shove the turn! I'm assuming villain will...

Re: Nut Straight - $1.25 Double Stack
I should amend my last statement. You don't really need to take a deep breath. You just have to pause and think about it long enough to make villain think it's a call that requires any thought.

Re: Nut Straight - $1.25 Double Stack
This is where I think a little acting can be useful - not too much mind you. You don't want to make villain suspicious, but I think if you smooth call, villain will check next round. If you...

Re: AJ - Call/Fold?
Definitely a tough decision because you just see so often people shoving when they hit top pair in this situation and not wanting anymore cards to come. So it's between top pair, in which case you...

Small Stakes MTTs in Vegas
Okay, simple question: where do you play your small stakes MTTs in Vegas and why?
I'm going in November and want some EV+ situations.
Played at the old Aladdin now Planet Hollywood a year ago...

Re: How afraid of limpers should I be
Early on in tournaments I find myself very entertained by the numerous limpers and the elation you get to see (or the conceit in more cases) of the person who takes down the pot thinking that they're...

Fun Hand for Interesting & Varied Analyses
This was a very interesting hand from several points of view. I feel my play was correct, so there's no real question. What makes it interesting is what some of the other players did and why. 15 of...

Re: When to call min-raises from the blinds?
Obviously, there will be a lot of differing opinions on this subject and there are such a wide variety of possibilities that a general answer probably won't do much good, but I'll try anyway.
I...

Re: Why are MTT\'s $$ so top heavy
Live tournaments tend to be the same way. There's a very simple answer: faster blind structure means more tournaments means more money for the casinos or online sites.

Stage thinking - two pair flop on suited board
Live tournament. Round 2. This basically turned into a heads up situation, so I'll post it that way. Apologies for any oddities with formatting, but I'll make it as clear as possible. Although I...

The average home game is really a thing unto itself.
The main thing to remember is that you need to change your regular game up and the reason you are frustrated is because you're trying to apply...

Re: 20 6Max: Readless JJ from BB early
Just on the basic assumption that this flop has missed villain, I lead. Normally, I'd say half pot, but that basically means you're all-in. His call signals weakness and I see his second call as...
