Re: Very unusual hand. Could I have played it better?

Nicely done. Way to get paid on quads - not always an easy thing to do. I wouldn't change a thing.

Re: StudHi 3rd Street Quiz w/ Small and Med Pairs

Hand 1: Raising for value, and to hopefully lose the BI. Don't mind calling and trying to eliminate opponents on 4th though.

I strongly disagree here. With a dead...

Re: StudHi 3rd Street Quiz w/ Small and Med Pairs

[ QUOTE ]
1) Fold due to low kicker, dead 9
2) Fold due to 3 higher door cards behind (very marginal because kicker is good and 7,K are live)
3) Complete despite dead Q

Re: StudHi 3rd Street Quiz w/ Small and Med Pairs

hand one is a fold. with one of nines dead and a three kicker this is unplayable.

hand two is a raise. your kicker is strong and you want to limit the number of players coming into this pot.

Re: Big pot Interesting spot with AA

If he pairs his door, you are behind in every hand except the str8 draw. I think at that point I am gone. But if he catches a straight card, I would re-evaluate the 19% I thought I was getting from...

Re: Razz- I know I played this wrong but take a look and tell me why

TT - I wonder if you could comment on this line of thinking - I would not raise the river because my board is such that my opponent can know for a fact that he has me beat. Given this fact, I really...

Re: half the bankroll?

if I could play in a game full of crappy players and have someone cover half my losses I would sell my car to play if I had to. The deal is too sweet to worry about a bankroll. Do it.

Re: Razz- I know I played this wrong but take a look and tell me why

I think this looks ok. When you consider that your assessment of the villian is that he is loose agressive, I agree even more. If he didn't brick on fifth it might be a different story though . . .

7 cards left that make two pair for the hero (of a possible 9 - assumes two are dead)

Re: Straight draw being raised by a lower \'made straight\'

More good points regarding how long until the blinds go up, and pushing with a marginal stack in this spot. Although I would rather have a flush draw on fourth, if I was at about 6k at the start of...

Your points are well taken, and I understand why you have the point of view that you do. There is more than one way to approach a hand or a tury, so I am not saying that you are...

-3 card flushes I will continue with if there's only 2 or less doorcards. If i don't improve on 4th, i almost always continue to 5th, which might be a little loose.

You seem to be saying that 50% of the time he has a pocket pair and 50% of the time he has split kings. I think your math is off- what makes you assign these probabilities.

Re: Rolled up against the bring-in: Give free cards or just take it do

Excellent points SplawnDarts, and yes, that play probably doesn't apply exactly to the situtaion the OP was in, but I wanted to bring it up to give another way of thinking about the hand.

Re: Rolled up against the bring-in: Give free cards or just take it do

In this case, I would at least consider raising. If there are a few players behind me, I'll just call to entice them into the pot, hoping they put me on a draw hand. However, here, I raise hoping...

Re: Straight draw being raised by a lower \'made straight\'

looks ok, but I would have probably not raised fourth, check called fifth, and check raised on sixth. Result would be the same in this case, both villians all in. FWIW, most times I am not raising...
