Re: Car Insurance Question (Multiple cars)

Yes. I am single and drive two car -- an 02 Toyota Sienna van and an 06 Corolla. The cost of insuring the two cars was definitely NOT double the cost of insuring one.

So your insurance company...

Re: side biz - real estate agent or broker?

So if you are curious, give it a shot. But realize that it will only be a side business and don't give up your day job.

If you can sell 1 home every 6 months to supplement your income, fine. If...

Re: side biz - real estate agent or broker?

Good question. It's something I have thought about myself.

First, real estate is a very cyclical business. And there are very high start up costs. It can take you many years to learn the ropes and...

Re: Is this HSBC email legit?

I have been doing HSBC for several months now. And the web address you gave does not look familiar at all.

Doesn't mean it cannot be legit. But it's not the one I use. I am in the USA. In...

Re: Being a Lender @ prosper.com

That sounds like a great business idea. Let's make unsecured loans to people who probably won't pay us back.

Re: Pay off house with windfall?

For example, let's say your mom one day told you ORALLY that she wanted your brother's 1/3 share of the proceeds from the house to go to her cat.

Do you think that as an executor, you could or...

Re: Pay off house with windfall?

Well, the part about your brother having to use the money to pay down his mortgage is the key to your OP.

If your mother's wish in that regard was expressed orally, then the bottom line is that it...

Re: Pay off house with windfall?

Thanks for presenting such an interesting situation.

It's important that you talk to your mom and try to convince her to speak with an attorney who specializes in wills and trusts.

It's...

Re: How much $ is needed to never have to work again?

Re: Lowball Offer on House

So Seller has come down from 279,900 to 259,500 as is.

And you are really offering 240,000 as is (250,000 with seller to pay for 10K roof.)

So you are about 20K apart. What does your agent say...

Re: Lowball Offer on House

Re: Lowball Offer on House

In theory a patient seller could live there for 20-30 years until he dies. So based on this fact that you yourself present, you should not expect him to take a lowball offer.

In his mind, he has...

I assume it doesn't.
