Re: LHE Isolation Reraise

The purpose of the question is this: is the increased (heads up) equity that you would/should need significant? Is the situation still reraise/fold or is cold calling now correct?

LHE Isolation Reraise

What is a good rule for the amount of equity you need to attempt an isolation reraise in LHE? 50% does sound reasonable, but does your position affect the equity that you need? What if you are in...

Re: raise mediocre hand and nail the flop

This is one of the rare spots where I would be pretty comfortable with bet/fold.

Re: A9o facing 2 bets on flop

3-bet the flop, but preflop is a fold.

Re: butchered A9 hand

I would just call on the flop and then check-raise the two pair on the turn. I think capping the turn is bad without a read. On the river, the decision on whether bet out or check-raise would depend...

Re: Hand Chart...version 3. my version

Wow... excellent effort! I personally feel that you recommend a few too many loose plays, since games with multiple limpers typically also have high rake.

Re: uh-oh

Why should we think that MP will call the river c/r? From PokerBob's description of the hand, we should be more inclined to believe that MP won't call. Assuming that the SB noticed the same reactions...

Re: Top pair/eh kicker on draw heavy board

32/26/3 - well the AF is high although it is not really over a large enough sample, but after the turn raise I'm calling down.

Re: Value & protect bet or value-check turn? 1/2 online, 55 from BTN

I think that your choice of line on the turn here in the absence of a more useful read is strongly dependent on your overall style, particularly how "fit or fold" you tend to play and how showdown...

Re: Correct turn check?

You played this hand well. You had a nice hand preflop but you met resistance from two players on a flop that didn't suit you at all, apart from the fact that your overcards might be good. Check the...

as well as a maniacally played Ks Qx hand

Check the board again. Also, villain's 3betting range in SB vs BT steal is wider than what you specified for suited...

Re: Overpair+GS

I think this is a good turn fold. Having to fold the overpair and gutshot sucks. I don't know why got fancy with the preflop UTG limp-reraise, but when you're not closing the action it's usually...

Re: A-high flush on fugly board vs LAGTAG

You beat Ks Js, Ks Ts and Js Ts, as well as a maniacally played Ks Qx hand. Against a nightmare LAGTAG like this, I'm calling the river, although I'm not happy about it.

Re: top pair on the turn

Donking the flop into the preflop capper is a perfectly fine play in the right spots - I sometimes view it as being "well I would have 5-bet you preflop if I could!". I tend to c/c this flop rather...

Re: Value & protect bet or value-check turn? 1/2 online, 55 from BTN

Am I the only one that bet-calls this turn in the absence of a stronger read than the one given by our hero?

Re: How hard did he hit? AQs

I think calling is better than raise/fold, because it is probably only A9 will pay you off and there are more BDFD possibilities.

Re: Flush on a two paired board

Check-call, since you called on the turn.

Re: wait for turn, or charge the draw now?

Another reason I really hate raise/fold on the turn in this situation is because a player like me in the villain's shoes will sometimes not 3-bet the turn and c/r or donk the river instead.

In a vacuum, I do not like betting the river here - it really does suck to have to play 99 like this though. But I would make a note on the line taken here to help me on future...

Re: AKs turn/ river play

As long as you are capable of raising AT and JJ+ on the turn here, I do not think it turns your hand face up.

Re: KJ in a raised pot

Oink appears to have changed his opinion on this hand. I c/r the flop here because fish are likely to call down when I am ahead and probably will fail charge me a lot when I am behind. Against better...

Re: Getting Max value on flopped set, FT 2/4?

I am playing aggressively on the flop and I want the BB to think I am overplaying AJ. If some donk has 76 here or is peeling with overcards + backdoor flush draw, I am going to charge him to get...

I also call vs an unknown. I am also likely to 3-bet preflop or check-raise this flop.
