Re: NL50 - FD+2nd pair meets flop raise

With villian raising preflop I'm either going passive with C/C or agro with C/R. I'm not leading.

Re: Top pair gets raised on turn

Good old Baluga thereom - TPTK is no good on a turn CR

Villian would have to be check raising quite a bit to make me want to call down here.

Re: Tips on Hosting Home Games (Looooong!)

"When getting your game started, go with a low-stakes cash game like $0.25/$0.50, $40.00 max buy-in NLHE."

What's a good chip distribution for this?

I think I check behind on the turn. The only thing we really beat at this point against a TAG's 3B calling range is like KJ which I don't see us squeezing out much more value from. He...

Re: 200nl- AA min checkraised

You don't check min raise to push someone off a hand. Really gives me the sense he wants a big pot here. Smells like a set, but could be overpair, or combo draw. Probably worth at least a call.

Re: How Does The Ultimate Bet Bonus Work?

Do you have to clear bonus to get rakeback, or do you get bonus and rakeback at the sametime?

Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Study Group Day 1

On bet sizing - I'll throw out my old rule of thumb for criticism/admiration - take your pick

flop - 3/4 to full pot
turn - 2/3 to 3/4 pot
river - 1/2 to 2/3 pot

This is more a 50NL and below...

Re: 50 nl - AA

I like it. A lot of times you get a call from a diamond draw that just can't lay it down and that you are huge favorite over.

My only concern is you are holding the Ad which reduces the draw...

Re: Yet another river bluff vs a 2p2er - this time l double float lol

Maybe I'm crazy on this one, but I could easily see villian playing a set/boat like this, or a big heart draw. He's betting a little under 2/3 pot, making it easy for him (drawing) or you (he has...

2nd hand -

Who the hell check raises that flop with a set? I put villian squarely on over protecting AK here.

Re: Is Anyone Good Enough to Fold This?

As an old SSNLer, is it time to break out the old Baluga Thereom? I think it went -

If you get check raised on the turn, top pair is no good.

Do you think this applies at these stakes?

Re: How to play AA deep after i reraise pf

As far as OP's question on bet size, I'm usually going with something around 1.5 x pot, so 1.5 x (37+17) puts me in the $75 or $80 range.

FishSticks comment is interesting too. Small bets to me...

Re: $50NL: I am lost

As played, fold the river. Everthing draw hit not to mention SC's hitting two pair. You're only beating QQ, JJ, TT.

As far as the hand, you reraise preflop, so villian puts you on a very small...
