Re: Need Theory/Advice - low pocket pair late in tourney with large bl

I rarely give hands like 22 a look in at this stage in a tourney. If you really wanna play it though i prefer a stop n go.

Re: How the hell do you deal with bad beats?

Watch some porn and treat yourself to a hand shandy!

In all seriousness I just think of all the players who are much better than me who have had far worse runs of luck than I have. Basically if a...

Is the 4th raise always aces??

Pretty self explanatory. . .

You raise with AK and get re raised, you then re raise and your opponent shoves. AK goes in the muck. . easy. Same goes for QQ/JJ.

The problem is when you have...

Re: Draw for Tourney Life

Call all day long for me. Im not interested in 3rd. Your getting 2 to 1 here and id say ur no worse than 40% to win here. Good spot to cripple a potential threat. I call and expect to see 66,88,99...

Re: UTG with JJ late in a 10/180 + Table Image Considerations

For me if this guy is raising every hand and i pick up KK when he raises, im just gonna smooth call it. Tbh Im thinking if someone shoves over the top of hero's raise we have to call as im sure a lot...

Re: How would you handle this?

Since when does "nice call, you got it" mean "I fold"? That's nonsense surely! Ive heard many people say that after being called and then they flip their cards to realise they have the best of it and...

Re: Final table chip leaders head to head - Call or Fold?

Firstly Id raise this pre flop to 20k. 6 handed A7 is plenty enough to get busy with considering our stack. Secondly as played bet about 10k into this pot, 5k simply isnt enough and you'll get action...

Re: FT A3o, good spot for a steal?

Exactly, great shove! If the KJ drew out on you then forget it. You got it in with the best of it (albeit not with that much of an edge but an edge nonetheless) and thats all you can ask for. At this...

Re: QQ, late Sunday Million

To be totally honest it does look a lot like AK/AQ to me. The re raise pre flop was quite big and an almost shove on the flop just makes it look like hes trying to steal it. on a T J 4 rainbow board...

Re: Final table live, how\'s this call?

Ill take this shot to try and double up and eliminate a player. As levAA says you cant wait around and hope for a much better spot than this. The fact that you posted this makes me think it probably...

Re: FT A3o, good spot for a steal?

Yeah I think I shove this most of the time. Good chance ull pick up 10k which is brilliant. The fact that the CO limped tells the blinds that you more than likely arent just stealing blinds and tbh...

Re: QQ, late Sunday Million

Actually now I read this again does anyone here get the feeling that the re raise to 27,500 is a bit suspect? I mean if I was in the sb with AA/KK id be making it something more like 20k. Maybe...

Re: QQ, late Sunday Million

I think it's a clear fold on this flop as any plausible hands villain is holding have us beat i.e. AA, KK, AK, JJ, a small possibility of TT but its not enough to warrant calling this. The question...

Re: Live tourney, blind defense become twopairaments..

Agreed I think you have to call the river bet. I hate it pre flop though, I have no problems letting go of 35s to a 4xbb raise pre flop. I never really get the urge to defend my big blind with junk...

Re: AA flopped set against good player, how to maximise value?

To answer Registrars question (a rather delayed answer I know) no I had Ac As. I should have included that in my original post really. Some good answers so far which is much appreciated. I agree id...

AA flopped set against good player, how to maximise value?

Playing in a local live tourney, most players pretty poor but this 1 guy to my right is very good (compared with the rest obviously) but nonetheless a good player.

blinds 100/200, starting stacks...

Re: Bully on the Button

I call and absolutely love life. Id say AJ is almost always good here. Getting ur 7k in against a big stack loose player like this is what you want surely? He cpuld have a pair but a lot of the time...

Re: What is your action here?

I definitely agree a few reads on the big stack would be magic here but for me it's a fold. I for one dont really want to put 1/4 of my stack in, in the knowledge i pretty much have to fold if I dont...

Final table strategy in tournament with ridiculous blind structure.

Recently I have been playing in a local game with a £5 buy in. It usually consists of between 20 - 25 runners on 3 tables. Starting stacks are 5000 with blinds starting at 25/50 and increments of 12...

Re: TPTK OOP for big pot early in tourney

Id bet more pre flop from this posititon, you really dont want a multi way pot OOP. i make this 200 or 250 pre flop. Hopefully this will mean maybe heads up to the flop and a smaller flop bet...

Re: KK call fold or push?

Ive folded KK pre flop a good few times but most of them have been due to structure of a particular tourney e.g. 9 man sng with 4 left, im short stack, all 3 opponents go all in, i toss my KK into...
