The question of a typical player's range does depend on the game: whether it is online/live, what casino/site, what time of day, previous action at table, etc.

I was not aware that the stadard play was instacalling with any king when your check-raise is re-raised all-in for 12K more when there is 7500 in the pot, sorry about that.

Just wanted to add, I don't think yours was a terrible play. A pair of aces versus a set on a drawy flop like that is always going to result in losing a lot. Even if I had done it my way and bet...

There are times laying it down can be the correct play but they are quite rare. It can happen in cash games but you'd probably need relatively deep stacks and some knowledge of the way your opponent...
