Blinds are t25/50, and I'm at CO with t1200, BB is quite the same at t1130. All fold to me and I raise t300 with 98s. Called only by BB.

The flop comes K32 rainbow. BB checks to me. The pot is...

Re: Basic Sit \'n Go Questions Answered Here

Hi, Collin,

I just finished your books and tried the advices in real play at $5 SNG.

The problem I now have is this. In low BB which is about 30-40 hands, usually I'll never get premium hands,...

Why need antes when we have blinds

Several round into WSOP, there will be antes and blinds, which basically means everyone pays one extra BB every turn. Just want to know what kind of things that antes can achieve while blinds can't?

Near the end of an STT, 3 to 5 players remaining, I am the short stack at about 5-6 BB. I am in the BB(that left me with 4 BB), with some mediocre like K3o or Q6o. The button or CO with >13BB raise...

Re: hit partial outs but face large bets

SB's turn bet isn't too wrong? If BB is drawing to flush too, then he should folded and without his call, I wouldn't have got the enough odds.

I should have be cautious on BB's river bet....

Re: hit partial outs but face large bets

Thanks for the flop advice. Think that will cost me .75 but save me 1.43, which is nice.

But I still want some advice on what to do on the river. It's easy fold? How to figure it out?

Bubble play / micro stake STT

It's on Ladbrokes, $2 buy-in, all top 5 get the same, i.e. $4.

Six players remaining, so it's on the immediate bubble. Blinds are 50/100.
Villian(UTG+1, 2nd largest stack with 3200, becomes quite...

You can still win by catching the last ace -- your only out.

Re: How to avoid this beginner\'s action?

gregorio, thanks, that's a good advice. But the odds change from person to person. I'll need better odds against tight players than against lag players, right? What kind of things shall I remember/do...

How to avoid this beginner\'s action?

I'm a newbie to poker and just finished several books on it. My problem is that during a hand, I always get too excited/nervous to do some math.

Math is my strong suit (doing a math phd), so I...

Re: Can sum1 who doesn\'t suck at math tell me if I\'m doin it rite?

Thanks ncray, for a good explanation. The card game is different than the car/sheep game.

In the c/s game, the door opened to you depends on your choice of the first door, so knowing it is sheep...

Re: Can sum1 who doesn\'t suck at math tell me if I\'m doin it rite?

This sort of problem continues haunting me.

Should the K or Q on board change the probability of your opponents hole cards? I think to figure out the probability of his holding K or Q, all 8 cards...

Not sure if this topic suits here.

In Harrington's book, he emphasized on calculating odds when facing all kinds of betting, especially all-in.

I do think that when facing all-in from a larger...

Re: 25/50 Live Flopped Flush

Some mathematics.

Pot odds = 5800/18300 = 0.3169

hand analysis
30% vs two high diamonds K8+ A8+, 2 outs, 8% chance to win, so 30%*8% = 2.4%
10% vs diamonds 7x 2x 27, 1 out, just no chance...
