Re: 4bet AKs.....committed?

SNAP CALL???

If we assume he is doing this somewhat loosely (ie AA,KK,AKs,QQ-1/2 the combinations) then you are 35% to win against this range so it's not even close with these odds of 2.5 to 1. ...

Re: Full Tilt # of games going

This may be a bit of a sidenote but I remember from playing SNG's that the games were considerably tougher at $30 than they were at $20 and somewhat tougher than the $50 ones which makes no sense...

Re: A Non Pooh-bah Post

IMO c-betting the A high flop is key especially against a tighter player who is most likely calling with pp or good A not the A-rag that most doofuses are playing to the felt. Then again I like to...

Re: Analysis of a downswing

correct me if I'm wrong but folding AQ UTG wouldn't be that wrong was said about Full Ring not about 6-max. I think I'm quite nitty and I would never dream of folding AQ UTG. I've played 500K hands...

Re: Carpal Tunnel Post: My Take On Tilt

nice post . . . I get this entitlement issue after becoming a solid winner. I know the checks are coming my way eventually. I just want more and I want them faster and sometimes that sets me off. ...

Re: Thanks 2+2 or How to Put It All Together and be a Winning Player

[ QUOTE ]
If I were to quote the bits and pieces I agreed with, I'd quote the whole thing.

Very nice post. You outline 5 fundamental poker truths. In order to become a succesful player, one...

Re: Belated Carpal Tunnel Post - Reads (hijacked from Fallen Hero)

Great post! Note-taking is one of the small elements of successful poker I find.

I 8-table 200NL and 400NL and there is definitely time to take notes if you are using the PA HUD as they...

Re: Carpal/Tunnel Post: Control

great post . . . moderation in all things!

I was really intrigued by misanthrope's reply which I also have felt works better for me. I've felt some internal and external pressure because of a...

Re: Poob Post - LAG vs TAG

Great post! I've personally started making so much more money from mixing it up but have found as I creep into the looser end of TAG play like 22/18 or so I have to play shorter sessions and my...

Re: aggression wins the money! (xpost)

muck it preflop. he is going to lead the A high flop almost always so I would c/r so you get some money from air c-bets or ok hands that he snap folds to c/r. if you think there is a strong chance...

Re: (NL600) Passively played AA faces river overbet

bet more on the flop. standard turn check and it looks like on the river he's hoping to get looked up by an Ace or 6 and has at least the 6 and maybe fullhouse.

Re: Another Filthy Hand...

if he is solid tag I doubt he very often flat calls AA, KK, JJ here and almost never calls with JJ on that flop. even if this is one of those one in almost never that he flat calls AA or KK then he...

Re: 2/4 Bottom set against nit almost 400 BB deep

he may fold to any kind of 4-bet without the nutFD or an overset and as deep as you are he might even fold FD if you really think he has been playing nitty postflop as well. Seems like a call then...

Re: 2/4 3-flush board with top pair

decent chance with those stats that he won't be able to fold any reasonable pair that went along with his seemingly obvious draw since a likely calling station like that will want to put you on a...

Re: QQ connected flop of undercards EZ fold?

Raise more on flop but as played all you can hope for is he has T8 or 98 or possibly QJ but you have 2 queens so without reads I think this is a pretty standard fold.

Re: Overpair against raise on dry board

small note - he's getting 13-1 on set mining in position which should be ample especially if the RRer is tight (ie likely to have big pocket pair). Me personally I reraise tighter when raise comes...

Re: AK is fun - pf checkup

you have to push here against standard tag or looser because otherwise you are only doing so with AA and KK which is a pretty small range of hands to call or push on 4-bet and likelihood that he has...

Re: $600NL I thought top set was a good hand

hand 1: I think I would bet about 180-200 because if he has flush he has taken an extremely weird line with the flush check calling the turn and then hoping on that board that you are going to value...
