Re: Don\'t raise AK preflop, ever acceptable?

I would say it's results based thinking. If it's extremely loose IMO just raise more than you usually would preflop. You want to be paid for your premium hands, and if the game is as loose as you...

Re: Raise or fold situation?

I would suggest calling over raising, but I'd fold in this spot most of the time without any more information.

Re: Garden City: Fish identified 20-40

Some guy went 7 bets with me on the river, I had a straight flush and he had a deuce for the flush. I was so confused afterwards I asked him why he went so many bets.

"I've got terminal cancer...

Re: Is this standard procedure or just one of \'those\' games

They clearly aren't as serious about gambling as you are. If you continue to play in their game i dunno if you'll have any sway in determining these kind of things.

Re: Gotta Have Chips

Re: misread my hand, winner mucks

I would never pay him, ever. As a poker player you should not care whether or not another player loses, granted you kind of took an angle shot on that (incidentally). But it's poker 101 to not...

Re: Dealers commenting about my play.

I don't like dealers talking about my hands because they're usually pretty terrible players and I just don't like discussing strategy with them. I also think it's just a little awkward, I mean why...

Original Poster, there was insufficient information in your post to evaluate the hand. If you included more information in it I'm sure one of us could figure out some mistakes. Additionally i would...

Re: Teach me how to win with KK...

[ QUOTE ]
I usually just fold KK to a re-raise pre-flop, since it's a damn ace magnet. A lot of people will think that's really nitty but I can find better spots to get my money in.

Hustled

Ask all the details about the game up front, if at any time you're not totally comfortable with the structure, leave. No questions just go.
