I was not sure where to post it.
It wasn't a beat ,most certainly not a brag.
Granted it added to variance not to mention reducing EV, but I was looking for the most general place to post.

OK so this stupid costly mistake is not all that uncommon.
Suggestions on how to elimate it?
As said in my original post wear your glasses when looking at your cards.
Other ideas?

Today on a 2-5 NL game at the borgata , I looked down at 98 in the BB. Four limpers I limp and the flop comes 10 7 6 rainbow.
How perfect!
I check early player bets $20 I call.
Turn is a rag. ...

Generally it Plays reasonable but on occasion it gets very loose passive.

2-5 NL Borgata.I'm in middle position 77.The game is very average in terms of aggression and looseness.
Early position player bets $20, a middle position player calls ,I call and a late player...

Then fold it otg-even in loose 1-2 games.Unless you hit 2 pair or better on the flop, you very well may end up outkicked or outranked. Save your money for better hands in better position.

why are you raising utg with AJ? Limp at most-good players dump this hand in early position.

Don't you think I would have a better chance of getting more of villians chips with a big turn reraise?
A flop raise may make him suspicious of a set and cause a check/fold to a large turn bet.

Also I was afraid a flop raise could cripple my chances of g
