How long do you keep pushing this situation?

If I had to name one situation that costs me a huge amount of money consistently, this is it. I start with pocket aces, queens, or kings, all overcards to anything on the board. I raise pretty much...

Re: My stats

Attachiant,

My comment re trolling was NOT directed at you. This is a great thread that you have started. Sorry if you thought I meant you.

Re: Stud hi - KK in hole vs probable flushdraw

Maybe, maybe not on the value raise. He could just have easily started with a mid pair and a two flush. In that case, it is definitely a free card attempt. In many cases, this play will get him...

Re: Stud hi - KK in hole vs probable flushdraw

Regarding the river bet question, the decision for me depends on who I am playing. If I believe that villain is solid and capable of folding jacks up, then I will check behind as played. If he is...

Re: My stats

How does playing 70% in this game justify playing 70% in the games presented by the OP? There are no comparable social benefits and other factors at play in his online play. If there are, then he...

Re: My stats

Well, I admit to being puzzled as to how 70% can be good over 3000 hands. I have seen players with these percentages several times at the tables. They can have wicked win rates for a while, but...

Re: Anyone know of an article or book for heads up or short game stud?

Nice try CPA - congrats on watching whatever happened in Dec/06. I know what your screen name (even though you don't have the guts yourself to say who you actually are - internet anonymity is a nice...

Re: Anyone know of an article or book for heads up or short game stud?

I have never found an article or book on the subject either. The comments about playing the person and not the cards so much certainly apply though.

By the way CPA - you finish building that...

Re: Stud bots on FTP

Young2121 is definitely not a bot. I played him several times HU and he chatted the odd time. I refuse to play him now since he always buys-in for a small amount (5BB usually) and then plays hit...

Re: Felt like posting a hand

On fourth I was not convinced that the guy was pursuing a flush draw. If we was not, I was trying to eliminate the possibility that he was going to back into one. Lots of guys will fold to two bets...

Re: Felt like posting a hand

Here is the thinking behind the hand. This was a rare hand for me, in that I would not normally play it this way, but decided to play the players this time and not the cards so much. There are a...

Re: Felt like posting a hand

Ya on fourth I was really hoping for the raise from seat 1. It took him forever to decide though.

Re: Felt like posting a hand

Seat 7 was brand new. I had an impression that he was pretty fishy but that was a hunch only.

Felt like posting a hand

Been a while and thought this one might be controversial. Seat 1 is new but was playing a ton of hands. Seat 2 is an OK player.

Re: Flush draws: When to keep going and when to give them up?

A four-flush on 4th is almost always worth a raise, whether you have facecards in there or not.

Re: How valuable are implied odds in stud?

So everyone else folds to you I assume? I think implied odds are very powerful, but I don't like your implied odds here. Your only overcard to the ten is the visible ace, so if you catch another...

Re: Heads up stud pointers

once you post, its not your thread - its 2+2's thread. Got it? good. The "its my thread" attitude is really foul when it occasionally pops up in these forums.
