Re: 100NL: QQ on an AA board

Shrug and call sounds good. I think this hand plays out a lot easier if you bet the flop.

Re: My First Withdrawal, Do I have to pay tax?

You will not be taxed when you withdraw the money. You will want to declare this income on your tax returns, however, at the end of the year.

Western Union deposit to PokerStars

Re: 66 on 2d3x9d board 3-handed vs smallish bet, stationlike :/

I would fold on the flop. SB bet into three people (with you, the original raiser, last to act), and one of them called. Even if you're best now (which I think you mostly aren't), almost any turn and...

Re: NL200: Rivered set vs allin push

Super easy call on the river, it seems to me. I like the check on the flop, because it seems strange to me villain would 3-bet then not c-bet unless he flopped a monster. After you call the turn...

Getting out of a DirectTV contract

So I've had DSL barely faster than dialup for too long...good DSL is just not available in my area. I also have DirectTV and am under contract because of the free TiVo box I was given. However, to...

Re: Screwplay then sexy

Hand 1: Are you planning on check-raising? I'd bet...but check-raise if I checked. Too dangerous he'll take the free card when he would have called another bet.

Hand 2: You definitely need to bet...

Party Poker Buddy List

I just reformatted and installed Party Poker, but I backed up my old version in hopes of keeping my buddy list. I'm wondering if I can move my buddy list over from my backed up copy to my new...

Re: Defense against 50/30/2.4 stealer

It sucks. I don't think there's anything you can do.
Maybe bet the flop.
Either way you end up in the same position.
Get him next time.

Re: free play flops two pair, but there must be a better line

Update:

Bet the river, check-raise since you didn't.

Re: KK frozen by the flop

If you're "trying to see a showdown cheap" I wouldn't donk the river. That's not cheap. You might get raised.

Re: free play flops two pair, but there must be a better line

YOU HAVE TWO PAIR HERE!!! You beat so many combinations of hands here it's ridiculous. Check calling and betting and donking the rivere for "value" is the worst line possible.

Re: TPMK - Into the muck?

I think folding the flop here is a big mistake. That's what the lesser hands that are raising want you to do. I think you have a good position in this pot. Maybe just call the turn if SB leads after...

Re: free play flops two pair, but there must be a better line

Club draws are exactly the reason you need to be raising/betting. The fear of a flush draw should NOT be dettering you from any raising, unless it allows free cards.

Re: free play flops two pair, but there must be a better line

If betting the river is for value here, which it is, then getting a raise in on any of the prior streets = more value.

Re: free play flops two pair, but there must be a better line

I think you absolutely need to get a check raise in on the flop. Since you don't, you must do it on the turn. Since you don't, you must do it on the river. Since you don't, you miss bets.

Re: KK frozen by the flop

How about this --

Lead the flop
Call the raise if raised,
check-call the rest of the way,
Bet the turn if not raised on flop
fold if turn-raised
check-call if you're called on the turn.

I...

Re: TPMK - Into the muck?

Cap - lead turn
or
Cap - raise turn
fold 3-bet

I probably bet the river instead of checking behind of I turn them into calling stations.

Why do I feel alone on this?

Re: JTs -- I fall back on an old full-ring line

Call this down -- at least consider capping flop or c/raising or donking turn. Fold never.

Re: Another checkraise that may totally suck

I do not think this turn is getting checked through, but with so many flop callers I think you might be able to bet/3 bet a fair amount of the time. I still think I'd check-raise most of the time,...
