Re: 1/2NL live - KK river play

I was mainly worried about inflating the pot with a bet out of position and then getting raised off my hand.

Assuming I bet $80-$90 on the turn, am I folding to a raise?

After thinking about...

1/2NL live - KK river play

1/2 NL live at a full table.

- I'm UTG+1 with $650.
- MP's play has been a strange mix of extremely tight and erratic. He'd muck for two orbits and then raise 72o in EP. Then he'd muck for three...

Re: Hero call with second pair in Midnight Madness on FTP ($11)

The tournament went pretty late and I was playing kind of sloppy just due to tiredness. After I checked the flop (which is my biggest regret in the hand) and he led the turn, I decided I was going to...

Hero call with second pair in Midnight Madness on FTP ($11)

Sorry. Having trouble with the hand converter so I used the raw file.

12 left. Average stack is 190k. Chip leader hasn't really gotten too out of line. He has a lot of chips.

Spot for a hero...

Re: 200NL - River play deep with a set of jacks.

[ QUOTE ]
I like the smaller bet. A pair isn't much to call more with, and if someone has a set or made their gutshot, they should raise. I would be a bit wary if a raise came back around, but I'd...

Re: 200NL - River play deep with a set of jacks.

Shoot. I knew I lost value on this hand. Just wanted to get confirmation.

I was tired and after thinking about what hands they might be calling with, how much to bet to get value from weaker...

200NL - River play deep with a set of jacks.

At a pretty deep 10-handed table.. one or two people with less than $400 behind.

Four limpers and I make it $15 with JcJs from CO+1. Button calls, BB calls, two limpers call.

Flop comes Kd8d3c....

Re: $100NL - Queens on button vs possible resteal attempt

One question I have is, is this a good line because of how short the opponent is? Is there a difference between choosing this line of play when the opponent and yourself are more deepstacked?

$100NL - Queens on button vs possible resteal attempt

Villain is 35/17 over 79 hands Flop AF of 8.

I thought the best play would be to 4-bet here but a friend of mine thought calling and shoving a non-A or K flop would have greater value. Thoughts? ...

Re: $1500 WSOP - Preflop decision ITM.

I don't think this is that bad if person left to act didn't have kings and he got it in KQ vs KJ everyone would say bravo. Results always change the mindset.

$1500 WSOP - Preflop decision ITM.

This is a thread started by someone from another poker forum I frequent.

I state that it's greater EV to shove blind the next hand (if unopened) than it is to call in this spot. Comments?

Re: Limped queens on a paired board.

Oh.. and to add another question.

How does my opponent's semi-short stack size factor into this? I think this was where most of my confusion came from. He's only got 1900 behind after his flop...

Re: Limped queens on a paired board.

The rest of the hand:

I call and a really ugly offsuit king peels off. I check and LAG bets 600 again. I call with my gutshot and the possibility that I'm still ahead.

River pairs the king. I...

I like your flop thinking, but you give no reasoning for your preflop action. Under 99% of all circumstances that is a bad play.

Limped queens on a paired board.

$50 MTT with the blinds at 50/100 and the average stack is 3k. I'm up to 5500, mainly by picking on the two predictable players to my left that raise preflop, predictably c-bet, and then give up the...

Re: $50 PLO. Three pair plus nut FD on turn.

BB wasn't really a worry to me. I did think there was a good chance UTG had a set even though that would require the 2 case cards. He didn't seem like the type of player to me to reraise another big...

Re: $50 PLO. Three pair plus nut FD on turn.

Actually, my bad. The best turn for me would've been a queen. I guess second best turn.

Re: Ask AZK about being Pre-med/Getting into Medical School

Any tips for interviews? I don't know if I need to be more specific but I'm just looking for general tips. What kinds of things to read up on and such.

Thanks.
