Re: Third-worst sports injury I\'ve ever seen

I'd never seen Marlachuk's, I couldn't watch it again.

One of the worst in terms of 'cringe factor' the first time see is the Beltran-Cameron collision from 2 years ago. As a Met fan, I'm pretty...

Allman Brothers, In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
13 minutes of instrumental bliss

Re: ALCS - Indians vs Red Sox

Indians -

We feel your pain. Hopefully next season you fare better than we did after our Game 7 loss.

- New York Metropolitans

P.S. Mr. Betancourt should meet Aaron Heilman.

Re: ****Official 2007 NY Mets NL East Champs Thread****

Hopefully they even make it into the damn playoffs. Here's what the relievers should be:
Maine (7th inning)
Schoenweiss (LOOGY)
Feliciano (7th inning)
Heilman (8th inning)
Wagner (Closer)
Sosa...

Re: Bands that drastically changed musical styles

Chicago is a perfect example of a bad change. From 25 or 6 to 4, Make Me Smile, Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?, and Saturday in the Park to You're the Inspiration...

Re: Songs/bands that are popular that drive you NUTS

Styx definitely does it for me. I'm a big classic rock fan, but any time I hear on the classic rock stations,

"I'm, say-leeng, ay-way,"

in that whiny, high-pitched, nasal voice, I have to...

Re: Bad Moments in Great Films

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory:

The scene when the mom is in the laundry room and sings Cheer Up Charlie. The whole plot is really good from beginning to end except that part. The worst...

From Sesame Street ("brought to you by the letter Z"), I thought there was a word called brawtayu.

Re: ****Official 2007 NY Mets NL East Champs Thread****

Is anyone else not that unhappy that Lo Duca is on the DL? It seems like that is the only way for Castro to get his fair share of playing time, and I can live with DeFelice off the bench. I think...

Re: Brandon Phillips Double Steal

The only thing similar that I've ever seen was this (http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/multimedia/tp_archive.jsp?c_id=nym&ym=200505) play, which is just as mind-blowing.

May 21, "Koo Makes It...

Re: ****Official 2007 NY Mets NL East Champs Thread****

I would guess that they will platoon Gotay and Easley, with Gotay getting the majority of the starts against righties, and Easley against lefties. Probably about 60-40 Gotay.

Did anyone else notice that Schoenweiss mouthed "stupid mother f-ers" as he walked off the field?

Re: ****Official 2007 NY Mets NL East Champs Thread****

Baseball Tonight has to depress me by showing 3 or 4 replays of Kenny Rogers walking Andruw Jones to give up the winning run in the 1999 NLCS. I hate that man.

Like Needle, I don't want to comment on the game out of superstition, but does anyone else want to kill themselves when they hear that damned Mercedes commercial?

Re: Great songs not on Greatest Hits albums

CCR - Chronicle, Vol. 1 doesn't have Born on the Bayou (I know it's on Vol. 2, but I think it still counts)

Elton John - Greatest Hits doesn't have Levon, which is my second-favorite song by him...

Re: ****Official 2007 NY Mets NL East Champs Thread****

Leaves more playing time for Chavez and Gomez I presume, with (ugh) David Newhan as our 4th outfielder for the time being. Think Newhan will get any starts?
