Re: Foxwoods cash games

Almost all are 10-handed. (Except stud I think?) Once in a while they start up a 9-handed hold 'em table, but it's not the norm.

Re: Black Friday @ Foxwoods....

I was there on Friday, and that's about as crazy as it gets. The weekends leading up to the big tournaments can get pretty busy, like 150+ on the 1/2NL list, but Friday was definitely as busy as I've...

Re: How high a rake is unbeatable?

How high a rake is unbeatable?
A rake that is higher than your winrate is unbeatable.

Oh, and 10% of $500 is not $25.

Re: Villain offers to show a card

Forget paying him, poooooosh and find out. He definitely doesn't have 76, and if he has the other two 9s or 8s, so be it.

Re: Interesting B+M situation with verbal bets binding situation and K

Yes, it's his mistake primarily, but you have to pay attention too. When you see the guy put $100 in, that's when you speak up. Make sure he knows the bet amount and puts the right amount in.

Joining a new table?

Am I the only one who doesn't like to play at a newly formed table? I feel like people are so cautious at new tables, just feeling each other out. They (presumably) just got there, so they are fresh....

Re: Re-opening the raising in NLHE cash game

Don't want to hijack, but what if A bets 100, B calls, C shoves for 145, and D shoves for 210? Can A raise now? Assume the full bet rule.

Re: Am I stuck with just a min-raise here?

You can raise to anything you want. You announced raise, then put in the call. This is a common way of executing a raise. It allows you two motions - the first to put in the call, and the second to...

Re: How much is the raise?

This situation came up yesterday at Foxwoods and the raiser was told that he had to state a raise amount. He had to ask how much the player had left and then raise that amount.

In OP's case, the...

Re: foxwoods new cell phone policy

Nice. Hopefully they enforce it. But this doesn't apply when you get up from the table, does it? I always stand up and take at least a step or two back when picking up the phone. I hate being that...

Re: Reacting to an out-of-turn call: angle?

Sounds fair to me. His fault for being too eager. Not the case here, but some people will do the old "fake insta-call" to discourage you from betting, just so you know.

Also FYI, the line at...

Re: Trip Report (Low Content)

FWIW, after a year of going pretty regularly, I still shake when I first get to the casino every time. It starts as soon as I walk in the doors. I think the duration is getting shorter each time I...

Re: Huge game in the middle of the foxwoods poker room

Last night they had a 10-25NL game roped off right near the sign-in board. Maybe that game was still going, or started up again?

Re: What is the proper way to raise?

Once you bring chips forward, you cannot go back for more, even if you said "raise," unless you have stated the amount. Saying "raise" does not give you the license to string bet.

The only way you...

Re: Unionized dealers at Foxwoods?

I've been told by a dealer/floor that there is no raise when you become a floor. They make the same. If it's true, I think that's pretty stupid.

As far as the lights, I'm pretty sure they are...

Re: Big Chip Rule in Cash Games?

The first one is definitely a call, assuming he didn't say raise. No question.

The second one I believe should be a call, because of intent. Even though the letter of the law says it is a raise,...

Re: Favorite Foxwoods dealers???

Ricky is fun. William (I think, big huge white guy, deep voice) is real good. Thomas (older guy) isn't bad. William (30s, white, dark goatee) is decently fun and keeps it moving.

You definitely have to say something to these people, and if it happens again, KITN. There is one dealer at Foxwoods that is especially adamant about talking about the board in any way whatsoever....
