Re: Mucking and showing hands

Player 2 paid to see the cards. He should be able to see the cards.

Re: 50NL - blindsteal -> top pair -> facing aggression

I don't see anything wrong with folding here. It's hard but I would fold.

Re: When do you guys get up from a LIVE cash game?

Forget about how much money you're up. Play until you feel is not fun anymore or you think you're not playing you're best poker.

Re: nl50, flopped NFD on btn facing a bet and raise.....

I would call (4.67 to 1 pot odds, plus 9 outs). A shove might put you in hot water.

Re: Leak, leak, leak! What\'s your leak?

Playing Ax OOP too often
Trying to steal too many pots
Not patient enough.

Re: NL50 flopped pair and NFD in BB, how should i tackle this?

I would bet the pot. If villains call, re-evaluate on the river.

Re: NL50: AA gets c/r on the flop

A bet (aout the size of the pot),a call and a reraise... folding doesn't sound bad here.

Re: 10NL - QTs with both flush and strait draw

Line looks fine to me. It just sucks that you didn't hit.

Re: I want the coolest, most original card guard...ideas?

It's been a while since I used a card protector. My favorites are my Batman diecast (3") figures. Also, I've used different marvel super deformed heroes (Capt. America, Wolverine, etc.)

Re: Playing at UltimateBet

I've played at UB a couple of times and never heard about the bad beat jackpot. Just keep playing the game the way you want to play it. If someone whines and moans they can go to another table.

Re: nl50 KK faces AA9 board and a bet

IMO a fold is in order. With UTG raising PF, calling your raise and betting on the flop (bluff seems unlikely giving his position), it looks like he hit at least an A.

Re: Cards Speak or do they.

Usually cards speak for themselves. However, if the player with the lower pair said "It's yours", that's binding and the pot goes to the AK player.

Re: Strategy for showing hands in home game. comments/advice wanted...

I agree with basementproject. Showing your hands is arely a good idea. If you know your opponent, and you know that showing him/her a bluff will be to your advantage its OK. However, don't make a...

Re: Home Game - Argument gets started

Unless you had table cams on your game, that's it. You won the hand, the hand is over, the game's over. They need to get over it.

Re: Table Demeanor

[ QUOTE ]
I hate it when people stare at their cards, think, look again, etc. I never do it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe people do it to mess up your game. If they know you hate it that would be an easy...

Re: Table Demeanor

I don't have a set routine for the tables. I try to look at my cards when is my turn to act but that's not always the case. I do pay attention at betting patters, shaking hands, etc. Also, I always...

Re: $10 sng, KK in bb -- stragegy?

I think you played it correctly. Once the chips were in the pot it was up to the poker gods.

Re: $10 sng, KK in bb -- stragegy?

Better to get it now. Why let him/her see a flop? Push while you're ahead. If villain has AX make him pay for the draw.

Re: Cash or SnGs?

Personally I like tourneys better. They fit more my style and personality. I've made a fair amount of money plaing tourneys.

Cash games are OK. They're good for profit. The only thing I don't like...

Re: Home poker cheating - how common is it?

The closest thing to cheating I've seen in my group is people not paying their blind or ante. And that's by the end of the night when everybody is drunk (not really important). However, there was one...

Re: 10NL: villain\'s reasoning

At these low limit games people seldom fold top pair. The board has to be pretty obvious (one to the flush, straight, etc.) for somebody to fold. Your check, check and over the top bet looks weak.
