Re: What exactly does \"time\" mean?

It does not mean the player is calling the clock. I believe OP is saying the person who's action it is is saying "time" which is an indication they are thinking. They are saying it and the dealer...

Re: Horrible Time Pot Rule at Commerce

My new question would be this: In order to get your time charge back, do you have to announce you are only playing until the blinds? Assume I have decided to do just that but do not announce it. ...

Re: Horrible Time Pot Rule at Commerce

[ QUOTE ]

I would say a better rule would be this: If a player is going to be allowed to play to his blinds and get the collection back, then a player who wishes to take advantage of that rule...

Re: Horrible Time Pot Rule at Commerce

Well I would say open folding AA would be ridiculous even if you just wanted the $12. If a player is that set on skimming a few extra bucks they would open-push AA and get called as a major favorite...

Re: Horrible Time Pot Rule at Commerce

[ QUOTE ]
The way I look at it, if you decide to be in the collection pot, you're saying, "I owe $12 for collection. But I'm agreeing to gamble on not having to pay the $12 by being in the...

Re: Horrible Time Pot Rule at Commerce

Not that I have played in many places that use the time pot...but the clear solution imho seems to be that once a player knows they are leaving they declare themselves out of collection and pay their...

Re: Horrible Time Pot Rule at Commerce

Psandman-

Obviously you think the player should give his $12 time refund to Player A who won the pot. What would you say should happen if UTG wins the pot, pays time, and leaves after one hand? ...

For everyone who thinks this is unfair, would you feel it's unfair if UTG had won the pot and paid everyone's time for the next half hour then left? I don't think everyone is...

For everyone who thinks this is unfair, would you feel it's unfair if UTG had won the pot and paid everyone's time for the next half hour then left? I don't think everyone is going to toss him $12...

Re: Chips missing after a game?

If you spilled half a rack how sure are you that these chips didn't roll away under something? I mean it's unlikely anyone is going to admit to having them if you call them, because if you weren't...

Re: Chips missing after a game?

Well this sounds like a cash game, so there should be extra cash since $175 worth of chips never got cashed in yes? So you put the $175 aside and what does it matter if the chips get introduced...

Re: Weird situation at Caesars

I play in a casino on a fairly frequent basis which is why I'm amazed that the dealer didn't at least say something. It's definitely not uncommon for people to rack up for their last hand but they...

Re: Heads up agreement?

The problem is these players are NOT heads up though. They are still involved in a 4 way pot. They are the only two who can still have action but that does not make it a heads up pot. And they...

Re: Heads up agreement?

[ QUOTE ]
Does this practice become more acceptable in a tournament play, where 2-3 players check down a hand in an attempt to eliminate another player?

it's 100% unacceptable in a...

Re: Weird situation at Caesars

I agree that this isn't "cheating". That was more in reference to the comment that dealers deal the cards and say nothing pretty much no matter what (my interpretation of what you were saying).

Re: Weird situation at Caesars

So basically the rule is cheat all you want as long as no players see you? If the dealer sees it they'll just look the other way? I can't decide if I want to go to these rooms with 8 friends and...

Re: Weird situation at Caesars

If the dealer is going to be "ignored" or "yelled at" after pointing out that someone is ratholing chips then that dealer should be calling the floor over. For all we know based on the original post...

Well if you can't stop them from playing there really isn't a lot you CAN do. I mean you can't penalize people for simply not playing big pots with each other. Since you didn't mention any actual...
