Re: Vegas PLO8 trip report

Assani,

Since I'm guessing you live in Vegas, do you know if Binion's is going to continue these Omaha weekends into the new year? There's no mention of them on the website.

Re: Five pat hands in 25 cards... sucker bet?

Whoops! Quite right. I did a little more searching and someone coded up a way of doing this and had 98 hits out of 100.

Five pat hands in 25 cards... sucker bet?

I was reading something a few days ago where somebody mentions a bet regarding putting 25 random cards into five pat poker hands (that is, straights, flushes, full houses, quads). As it was written,...

Tilting Phil Hellmuth...

Folks,

At the UB room, one of the women came up to me and asked me not to take the last of the chicken quesadillas because Phil Hellmuth was coming into the room in the next ten minutes and...

Full Tilt iPods!

Hi, all!

I briefly stopped by the WSOP on Sunday, said howdy to the lovely and clever onegirlarmy, and then did a bit of wandering. As part of the wandering, my friend and I picked up tote bags...

Re: New Stud 8 Book Coming Soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dboy23,

Dr. Paul here. To answer your question, the difference between 8 players still in and four players still in is that even if you have the same number of outs, the number of unknown cards...

Re: FSN PokerDome Episode 2 discussion (spoiler)

[ QUOTE ]
Is the PL format preflop in place just to prevent frequent all-ins, given the reported short stack structure?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think it is both an action generator (since it prices in...

Re: FSN PokerDome Episode 2 discussion (spoiler)

[ QUOTE ]
I qualified for the June 18th episode, and it said that we get a $7k "package" for qualifying. There is no way 2 nights hotel, limo ride, food, and airfare add up to $6500. I hope the $500...

Re: holy s**t this poker dome format is awesome

Matt Savage had a stopwatch, so it was 20 minutes of playing time per round. The actual taping took over three hours. They're still working out some of the bugs, it seems.

Re: holy s**t this poker dome format is awesome

There's another thread on pokerdome where I answer some of these questions. I'd retype, but I'm lazy. In short, they did edit out some of the hands for broadcast (including me winning with AK with...

Re: pokerdome

This was actually one of the more interesting things from the show from the audience standpoint. The deck (which, if you ever see a side shot of it, is about 50% taller than a usual deck) is made up...

Re: pokerdome

Actually, the audience and players were just separated by one of those separating walls you see in convention halls and a lot of draping. We couldn't see or hear the audience (except when Brian...

Re: pokerdome

Hey guys, this is Paul Dreyer (Archimedean) from the show. I'll write more about the show later, but just as a clarification, I got my seat on the show because they did a random draw of folks who...
