Re: Online Poker 2006 = Daytrading Stocks 1999

I simply wish to point out that I daytrade for a living (in 2007, mind you) and I'm definitely not alone in the business, and am certainly not complaining about the money that's available out there....

Re: JJ hitting set, clear fold on flop?

[ QUOTE ]
Jesus, guys. He made a good read.

[/ QUOTE ]

A good read isn't characterized by its punctual correctness, but rather by the odds that it is correct.
The odds of this particular...

Re: JJ hitting set, clear fold on flop?

[ QUOTE ]

All I'll say is that you should continue reading 2p2 and trying to learn as much as possible, and maybe in a few months you'll look back at this thread and laugh at your fold. I know...

Re: Ugly river push 200nl

That's a very interesting thread, thanks for your time in that matter. From experience (and bad calls /images/graemlins/smirk.gif), I've also learned that most river (big) bets aren't bluffs.

This...

Ugly river push 200nl

Opp is 43/14/1.33

You can comment on whole line, but I'm mostly worried about river, getting ~2:1 ..

Re: TP trouble vs unknown

[ QUOTE ]
Without reads, I usually follow the same line as OP. However, on a blank turn I would push.

That was basically what I had in mind, but that turn card is definitely a show...

Re: Set on dry board, good line ?

[ QUOTE ]
But villan's line on the turn worries me. I'm not folding, but damn that's a strong stand he is taking.

[/ QUOTE ]

Good observation, he was very strong. I'm never folding either,...

Set on dry board, good line ?

Only got 20 hands on v, he is 20/11.

Is your standard play to raise a dry flop as this one vs PFR ? I'm thinking I shouldn't mind SB coming in.

Re: Variance and dreading the eventual downswing

While I agree that gambler's fallacy applies to this particular situation, I don't think we're being of much help to OP.

Re: JJ hand against a major league LAG, large pot

I check behind on river, he folds anything you beat, he pretty much calls with the rest.

Re: Variance and dreading the eventual downswing

OP is clearly talking about emotions he is experiencing, which usually have very little to do with logic (I trust everybody has experienced emotions in the past).

It appears the best way to help...

Re: LARGE gaybet on turn scare card...

The flop raise is all wrong, you're giving him a great price to draw. Make it at least 30. On the turn, I don't see much you're beating, 1.5:1 odds can't be very attractive here. Maybe someone with...

Re: how did i play this, 1/2NL

Button only has 150 or so ?

You bet 20 in a 45 pot into a draw-heavy board with 2 players, that won't do --> you're praying to get drawn out on profitably. Make it at least 40. The rest will...

Re: 5-5 live turned underboat

I read it as a very confident bet, not one of the flush draws. I don't think this guy is the type to slowplay trips.

His flop raise makes no sense, but then again so does his preflop raise. Could the turn bet be a draw-bait ?

Anyhow, the river seems to serve the same purpose as the turn, which is either to block...

Flopped nuts with action: line check

Both relevant opponents were pretty loose (50 VPIP or so) and BB has been aggressive the few hands I've seen him play.

Re: Picking off a C-bet, how much to bet on turn?

The flop raise I was going to suggest (15) gives him roughly the same odds as he priced himself in with his bet, which is ok if he has 2 overcards.

Still, waiting for the turn is tricky because
