Re: $16: Flop spew feat. river FPS

[ QUOTE ]
I raise preflop to not have a zillion limpers, be able to cbet against 1 opponent with respect and win a bigger pot if we hit.
On the flop pot is 210+120=330. We have to win 120/(330+120)...

Re: Bubble & 3 handed play ($335)

I don't think the first one's that trivial a fold. If you fold and BB wins, you're the new shorty and will have to win at least one showdown to avoid bubbling. If you call and can check it down,...

[ QUOTE ]
I don't like ten mans. Ten mans = less skill required since you end up folding more hands yet the sng takes the same amount of time, so there are less profitable plays to be...

Re: 55$ KK A high board

[ QUOTE ]
Hm, I just don't mind taking down a good sized pot right there. And an A high flop is good to cbet on.

Betting an A-high draw-less flop with KK only folds worse hands and...

Re: 1-table S&Gs - your feedback requested

The 100/200/25 level has always seemed like an oddball to me, replacing it with 150/300 or 150/300/25 would seem to make sense.

Any structure changes are way down the list of importance when...

Re: SNG Wiz Says this ok but don\'t understad?

[ QUOTE ]
I fear I would be looking for better cards out of the next 3 hands to shove.

Re: ($27) AQ to 13x BB shove over

Do people really jam worse aces over an UTG+1 raise here (23/15 people, at least)? My range would depend on who UTG+1 is, of course, but AQ seems to be about the worst of the aces I'd go with...

Re: $60 I know someone is calling but still

Sort of all depends on the players, doesn't it? A regular with less than 10BB who opens for 3x is crushing KQo and never folds to a push, for instance. Based on some rough calcs, you have to win...

Re: can someone check this in power tools and sngwiz

Some minimum edge setting? This call is never hugely +$EV, because there aren't enough chips in play in comparison to your stack, but it is +$EV versus any range that isn't strictly AA.

Re: Pokerstars $27 9-handed: strange BB call by a regular

It's +0.6% vs ATC, which isn't nothing. Depending on the dynamics of this particular game, I can see taking the risk. It's also worth noting that big stack is in villain's BB.

Re: Pokerstars $27 9-handed: strange BB call by a regular

[ QUOTE ]
yeah his call is pretty horrible. If you are sure he's a winner, it could be tilt, or a misclick, or his buddy playing. I'm fairly sure no longterm winner regularly makes this play.

Re: ICM problem

Too much math, but...

UTG shoves more than 25% in this situation, and you're correct to call his shove even if he is as tight as 25%.

SB should probably call more than 40%, too, and if you...

Hand 2 is an easy shove w ith all of them calling like 30%? Its plus EV all the wya up to 50%, close to breakeven with all of them on 50% (and then gets better than breakeven after that)

Re: $225: 2nd chip stack bubble

A lot depends on ranges, but they both look pretty thin for anything but the tightest ranges for big stack. How much do people spite call at the $225s?

Also a consideration, if a shorty doesn't...

Re: $60 L7 bubble - everyone is shoving 20 bb\'s, what happened to 3x

I don't necessarily disagree, I just try to avoid situations where I shove part of my range and not all of it. For all the times I shove hoping for folds, I'm constantly and pleasantly surprised by...

Re: $60 L7 bubble - everyone is shoving 20 bb\'s, what happened to 3x

[ QUOTE ]
This is probably ok given stack sizes. But they know you aren't doing this with KK.

[/ QUOTE ]

This seems like more of a reason to do it with KK than stop doing it with other hands.

Re: $60 L7 bubble - everyone is shoving 20 bb\'s, what happened to 3x

Well, the second one is easier. He has a hand strong enough to showdown with a short stack, but doesn't want to (can't) call a reshove from you if he makes a normal raise.

Re: 27T stat check, is it a standard stat or what?

Isn't that about a 1% ROI?

ITM percentage seems low, I'm at 40.7% over about 2000. My finish distribution was terrible for a long time, so my ROI is no great shakes, but still around 7%.

Re: 27T: In no man\'s land vs The Venetian

I don't know if he steals all that wide from the button here, but I don't have a huge hand sample to base that on. I've seen him go to war with fairly little vs a pre-flop re-raiser in this spot and...

You don't technically want your opponents folding worse hands to blind steals either (and, yes, I know that ICM math and game situations can actually change that such that you do want a fold even...

Re: $16 - KK, surprise card hits

[ QUOTE ]
Against just one player I'd usually just bet this flop for about 200, an ace is a huge part of our range and a lot of what villain has will probably give up right away.
