Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****

This is why I love HU poker. Everything is going along fine. I grind first villain down a half of a buy-in, and then this hand happens. He immediately leaves and a succession of three players sit...

Re: QQ set: river action

Hands that might call if you raise/push:

Good: AK, AQ, AJ

Bad: AA, JJ, 88, any flush

Is he re-raising you a lot preflop? If so, AA, JJ, and 88 become smaller parts of his range.

It seems...

Re: NL CASH 2 pair ever good here?

65 of spades or just 65s?

Even if he only shows up with K9, 65s, 99, and 98 you are only 68.4/31.6 against and you are only making a small error by calling.

You have to think he might bluff a...

Re: NL CASH 2 pair ever good here?

I think you have to call. With the way this hand played out, it looks like you have no idea where you are, but lets think about it for a second.

Hands you are scared of:
65, JT, 77, 88, K9, KK,...

Bet flop. Raise turn. Raise river.

Hands that will probably call you on river:

Good - 99, TT, QQ, KK, AA, J9, JT, JQ, JK, and maybe A7s or some weird 2 pair hands...

Re: HU CASH: do i raise this river for value?

Even if he only calls here w/ 77+, 33, J7+, and T9, you are a 57.7/42.3 favorite.

If you take 99 and TT out of his calling range, which is about as tight as it could possibly get IMO, it is 50/50....

Re: NL100$ : Open Ended Donk Semi-Bluffing

I don't call PF unless villain is raising everything from position. If he is raising everything from position, I might raise, call, or fold, depending on how the last series of hands have gone.

Re: NLCash - HH ( first post )

I think I bet flop on hand 10. I want to keep the pressure up and board isn't super scary.

I bet flop again on hand 18. I think you need to c-bet more.

And again on hand 34 and 44.

Don't...

Re: Hidden Nut straight on 3 flush board & a river raise

Every time I look at this hand it gets more interesting.

How often are you re-raising preflop? Does he know you have high cards here or could you be trying to steal the pot with nothing on the...

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****

I consider decent to be someone who doesn't let me run over them and take their money no matter what the cards are. Even using this definition, I have not found many decent opponents at smaller...

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****

Wow. Just completed a profitable heads up session vs. decent opponent.

Hit quads and stack him for a 1/2 buy-in right when he sits down.
Hit quads a few minutes later and stack him for another...

Re: Hidden Nut straight on 3 flush board & a river raise

I am not sure I can ever fold this unless Villain has been playing extremely trappy and I have some kind of read on checking the turn nuts from position.

On the turn there is 4 to the straight, so...

I am new to the forum, but I just realized that HU is one of my better games, so I am going to start concentrating on it.

Re: Absolute Cheating

Oh, and if someone was playing 90/60 at my table and killing it, I think I would be smart enough to sit out. Wouldn't this get real obvious, real fast?

How often should you be making certain hands?

I know this will vary by play style, but lets use an average sLAG player w/ vpip of 25 and pfr of 20 and a 1000 hand sample.

On average, how often should he be hitting flushes, straights, and...

Re: Hank Azaria laying down KK.....should I be impressed?

Hank Azaria plays in a pretty tough home game in L.A. and is a decent poker player.

No idea about the fold, though.
