It seems like this board is all for short-handed play, correct? Is there any discussion on the advantages of playing 6max vs. FR and vice-versa? I don't see that topic in the stickies, although I...

Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Volume 1 Review Thread

Can someone give a concise explanation of the difference between this book and the NLTAP that came out last year? (Maybe it's in this thread somewhere.) Is one more "advanced" than the other?

HOH 3 to Cash Games

I'm reading HOH3 - really liking it.

I'm trying to decide how directly these concept tie to cash games. Basically, I think that as long as M's are high, the concepts should transfer pretty well....

Re: Find it hard to log the hours

Maybe you need another part time job or activity to give you something else to think about besides poker. Maybe thinking about poker all the time is burning you out.

Balancing work and poker

I have been playing poker on and off for about 4 years. Recently, I started to ramp up my focus on the game by reading more, playing more, etc. I'm really getting "in" to the game - not really from a...

Re: All in, muck...

The fact that the "players have seen the cards" seems to be a murky element. For one, probably all the players didn't notice the cards - a couple players were probably not even paying attention....

Re: Spanish speaking 5 year old

I think the child will speak in the language she is most comfortable with. I guess she could start learning in pre-school, but it seems it would be easier on her if she already spoke decent English...

Re: Basic software questions: datamining and bots

So is collecting data at tables I'm not playing illegal at all/most/some or a few sites? I.e. can I open up a few tables, collect data on them before begin playing at the tables myself?

Is collecting data on other players and analyzing it the definition of datamining? If so, then Pokertracker is datamining software? Or does datamining have a more specific definintion?

Serious...
