KK Overpair Vs. Tag
Villain is about a 20/18 tag, from what I know from him he is rather aggressive but generally does not play big pots without a strong hand.

Re: chess question
I am not certain whether you are playing black or white, but I will take white's perspective for simplicity:
In several opening systems, a central pawn is willingly sacrificed in exchange for...

Re: the spoon is too big
If we call preflop, the SPR will be around 12 which is good for our hand as it gives the top pair hands in his range the greatest difficulty making it profitable for when we try to steal or hit a...

Re: 2 useful formulas
I use a different formula for #1. You can simplify the equation somewhat by including your opponent's initial bet to the right side of the equation:
2 x (amount you need to call) + (current pot...

Re: Chess books?
From my own experiences from novice to tournament player, there is much I'd like to say on this topic, but here are some of my thoughts:
-I found Yasser Seirawan to be a very lucid author. I...

[ QUOTE ]
there is a flush draw out there and by raising, you give bad odds to the players behind you who may have a FD.

With such a huge overlay given by the pot, raising the flop...

Is it possible to play winningly from SB and BB positions?

Re: Flop Donk
I'd probably fold preflop, but if I was going to call, I like a c/r rather than a donk.

Re: Bottom set, playing scared
Definitely bet this river. I'm assuming you lost this hand, but the point is that your opponents will very often not be on the draw and you will just miss out on some clear value.

Re: check call, bet call, or check fold
check/calling doesn't make much sense because the texture is such that there aren't many weaker hands or busted draws that will likely have a bet induced here. Your opponents are also loose passive,...

Re: AceAce at Commerce 4/8 (with poll!)
I'm with Chino here. The pot is large now and will likely be gargantuan by the river. Raising makes money, but inducing a weak turn bet from our right and protecting our equity makes more.

Re: Why limit?
In limit, you have a lower winrate than NL but with much smaller bankroll requirements. This means that a limit player can play higher stakes than an NL player given the same sized bankroll....

Re: SB vs BB against LAG
Don't raise for a free SD just because you can. It's an easy play to overuse. With this hand, on this board, against this player, I prefer just calling.

Re: SB hand
I toss this preflop, but I'd probably play K8 and upward against weak opposition. Besides, the rake really sucks at 1/2.
Postflop I'm betting until told to stop. Check/calling to induce a weak bet...

Re: At what point are you priced in?
You should make the play with the highest expectation. It's not a matter of calling because you're getting X:1 with hand that wins more often than that hot or cold. T7o is a hand that frequently...
