Re: Do you have tips on table reading - mnemonics, techniques, etc?

I think the key is not to expect too much. Don't try and get reads on every player from every hand. First, hone your skills by concentrating on one or two players (those sitting next to you would...

In the early stages of a sit'n'go (BB<50) I raise from early position with AK (4-5xBB) to have someone reraise 3x in late position. What do people do as a general rule here?

A push seems obvious...

Re: 4/180 TPTK facing flop shove

With such a draw heavy board I see a lot of 2-pair hands overbetting/pushing here. However, in a 4/180 it wouldn't be unknown to see any random Ax played this way. Flush semi-bluff is slightly less...

Re: I hate these spots so much

[ QUOTE ]

Average stack doesn't matter. I think this is probably one of the biggest mistakes new players make. Who cares what everyone has, it's what you have compared to the blinds that matters....

Re: I hate these spots so much

What's the average stack?

Re: Busted Draw or does he have a hand?

Could be a flopped set with the river push designed to look like a busted flush draw. It seems pretty player dependent and the truth is you'll never know (assuming you folded).

Re: 4/180 AA in the BB

The other factor to consider pre-flop is that the big blind is still in the hand at this point. Depending on your attitude this could be an argument for either push or call:

push - to isolate...
