Re: Bottom set on flop, one low board

[ QUOTE ]

Is a raise here spew?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, a pot sized raise is a reasonable play. This rainbow flop with only one low card is probably not very popular, and there are good chances...

Re: $25 PL - call this river bet?

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
I don't think that BB has you beat both ways because he only checked the turn and it's unusual to do this with nut flush draw plus nut low draw. The presence of the bad player...

Re: What do I do and why? $25PLO8

Hand 2

[ QUOTE ]

On the river I have a small full house and a weak low. My question is: because I have made this weak low, if I bet pot and get raised on the river, can I reraise?

On the flop you need at least 11:1 to take one off with nothing but a counterfeit protected backdoor draw to the nut low. That has been written (by Tex I think) maybe half a...

[ QUOTE ]
Raise - get it heads up with the blinds and play poker. :-)

[/ QUOTE ]

But you have to play poker very well because you are a 1:2 dog against a random hand.

Re: Omaha 8 pot limit

Listen to your wife! When the players are equally skilled the deeper stacks tend to have an advantage. This is especially true when the smaller stacks are mid sized (50 to 70 BBs or so). Playing...

Re: [O8 0.05/0.10] fold river?

You cannot fold the river. In the worst case (1/6) you get at least 3.5 BB for the 4 BB you have to call.

You missed a mandatory 3-bet on the flop. Preflop and turn were OK IMO.

Re: 22$ AQo flop?

so push flop is not that bad?

[/ QUOTE ]

Considering your stack size, taken for itself a push with approximately 35% equity is not too bad, but because of the complete lack of fold...

Re: 300 BB deep PLO decision

If I got it right the situation is as follows.

potsize: 2220

your stack: 2600

his stack: 1700

You have 900 to call and put villain on a hand range that makes you approximately a 1:2 dog.

Re: LO8 Hand

I have a question about loose guy's play on the turn. Why didn't he bet his nut low then? I ask because I would have done that against 3 opponents and I wonder whether that is a mistake I regularly...

Re: Shortstacking PLO8

After reading Rolf Slotboom's book I tried to adapt the shortstack strategy he described to PLO8. So far it worked well, but that doesn't prove much since I play the lowest limits and I have only...

PLO8 $2: Flopped boat, scary river

Sorry for the low limit but I'm a miser and I'm still learning. The hand is simple and played itself but I'm not sure about what's the right play on the river.

I sit in the BB with K976 rainbow,...

Re: Fold Flopped Nuts On River against Aggressive Opponent?

For a fold to be correct the chances to rebuild the stack with less than 4 big blinds left should be higher than the chances to win the hand. I don't think that's the case. If that's correct a raise...

Re: A248 ds, hit 3 pair!

With your raise you bet $32.5 into a pot of $56.5 (48 plus the 8.5 button still has) and your hand should be good enough to do that. But, as said above, instead of checking the flop you should have...

Re: First Post Here Ever - Call this all-in?

I think the experts above are overdoing their criticism of your play.

Though your starting hand is marginal at best, it's of course permissible to limp from the button after three limpers, and...

Re: i think this is really close

For the river bet to have any value it should be almost certain that he will make a crying call with kings up. (I don't think he has two aces.)

If he has a K he's bound to have also a 2. Otherwise...

Re: River Action w/ Nut Low, 3 handed, Omaha H/L

Given the turn action it doesn't look like SB or BB has the nut low. Hence the raise on the river seems reasonable to me. This way instead of going for one overcall you'll get a least two additional...

Re: How does this guy not lose all his chips to me?

He seems to think that in order to make your river bet you need to hold either QQ (3), QT (6), TT , AcKc, Kc9c or 9c8c. When he raises he expects you to call with 9 of the 10 holdings he has beat and...

Re: One day I will learn how to play 10/20 LO8

On the turn things get worse, now you also face a possible flush draw. Your OESD is just not that valuable. You could make your hand and still loose. You have 2 outs to scoop the pot...

With five players contributing I think the turn bet is fine. True that there are very few scoop outs, but when half the cards give you half the pot then pulling in more money five-handed...

Re: LO/8 JJTT in Micro-Limit Game

I think JJTT is well playable for one bet. A flopped top set is better than a flush draw (if you fill up there will sometimes be no low) and in case of a straight or an OESD the duplicated cards have...

Re: Possibly played wrong on every street (10/20 limit)

I think you played the hand well. The preflop call out of the big blind is certainly OK and checking this flop is fine, too. I don't like the idea to check raise a late position bettor though and...
