Re: Running good

Quick check: 15 buyins in 7500 hands, the last 4500 of which are in the micros, is not a downswing, right? It's time to worry about early-onset Alzheimer's, right?

Re: PartyBets spam-bar killer - version 2

Disappearing buttons in general (and short buy in timeouts) are caused by a cumulative error in the client's idea of time, which it derives from your system clock. Found this out because my system...

Re: Version 3 of the script & an alternative method

Just what "partybets spam-bar" is this? I can't find anything at the bottom of my lobby. Perhaps it appears for you in the green bar between the partygaming brand icons and connection information?

Re: Why can\'t I beat micro LHE? (Two FR hands)

The maths just isn't working out in favour of a FSDR for me in my hand (the Q2 example on the other hand makes perfect sense), which may be because of my inexperience but, if it's truly correct here...

Re: Why can\'t I beat micro LHE? (Two FR hands)

I'm glad to see I'm not mad to think that bet-fold the turn as a default line is terrible on hand 1, although bet-call was maybe better than check-call. Check-raise-folding there is something I...

Re: Why can\'t I beat micro LHE? (Two FR hands)

The thing is that there are actually more combinations for overpairs alone (never mind anything else that you might've played the same way) than for AJ,JJ, AJ,KJs,JJ or even AJ,KJ,JJ, never mind...

Re: Why can\'t I beat micro LHE? (Two FR hands)

Maybe I'm paranoid about being exploited, but isn't bet-folding the turn in hand 1, really, really bad if your opponent knows you do this? What do you bet-call?

Why can\'t I beat micro LHE? (Two FR hands)

I'm a long term winner at small stakes NLHE (not so much in the recent short term, but that's not relevant) and have repeatedly tried and failed to beat micro stakes LHE (small sample, but it does...

Re: Python help needed! Stars screwed me..

Use codecs.open (import codecs) - codecs.open('Notes.txt', 'r', 'utf_16'). You'll have to change some of your code to use unicode where it currently doesn't though (e.g. that split, although...

Re: Comment frequency statistics from Amazon

So the amazon sales rank didn't exactly jump out at you?

To save you the trouble of doing all that again, here's a list they made earlier: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/books/4414/

Re: Bryce is \"In the Well\"

GTO play from both players certainly does (in symmetric games), but non-optimal strategies perform worse than optimal ones against optimal strategies (in fact this isn't a million miles from the...

Re: Bryce is \"In the Well\"

You wrote earlier in this thread that "GTO" play only achieves neutral EV and isn't a winning strategy, but isn't that restricted to certain simple games such as river bluff (catching) decisions?...

Worst card with overpair versus nut case

I am having a [censored] month and have decided that I've clearly forgotten how to play during a forced break last month, so I need SSNL's help. But enough of the psych board content.

Mainly I...

Re: can i sustain my current lifestyle? (workaholic)

To state the obvious, that means working 16 hours days for 6 days per week and not being allowed a life on the seventh day either. Fun.

Re: Can someone please help me explain why I lose all the time?

Risk of ruin calculations assume that you don't move up or down. If you move up constantly like the OP (and never down), your risk of ruin is much higher than the calculation says.

The point is...

Re: Shuffling at sites

Although a PRNG is in practice just as safe, a large number of gamblers are absolutely convinced that the shuffle is rigged and need every assurance you can offer them. The use of data from client...

Re: Partypoker blackjack

There's an option to control the "Maximum amount you can take to a game" (per game) at https://secure.partyaccount.com/cashier_summary.htm

Perhaps setting it to $0 would work?

Re: Party Notes Function

It's a bug, there's no fixing it from this end. You could use an AHK script or something else to take your notes, that's about it.

You store random bits in a pool of course and use that when you need to deal a card.

Re: Shuffling at sites

You don't need the full deck ordering, only some of the cards will actually be used. The order of the rest doesn't matter and thus doesn't need to be determined.

Re: Shuffling at sites

The simplest shuffle is to not shuffle at all, but instead randomly pick the cards from an ordered deck on demand. But all fair shuffling systems are equivalent.

Re: Party Notes Function

Everyone's having this problem, it's a bug. Backup your notes now, it partially wrote the notes file for me and I was left with five notes on players whose names start with A.

Re: Why AHK scripts ?

It's common for programmers to be competent in a dozen languages, your comparison to spoken languages is flawed. Just pick whichever one you like and use it and don't expect to make any converts. ...
