No reads on the guy but he seems pretty standard and has been running lucky all night.

Re: [50nl] Do you push this river?

i put him on one diamond, which explains his raise preflop for fold equity and then just a call on the turn. I would've played it the same way fwiw

Re: Bottom two vs. a turn minraise

range wise i dont necessarily put him on a set. however if i had to put my money on his hand it would be 8 8, 10 10, QQ or K K, and if im right youre beat 50% of the time
(i realize this isnt...

Re: Bottom two vs. a turn minraise

i haven't been studying poker for too long now but heres my two cents:

question 1: I like the call. This is the flop you're looking for more or less, as there are only a few flops better for J...

Re: pls check my thinking here - NL50

i fold on the flop here but,
if i call its not cause i hope to improve, its because i think i'm already in the lead based on reads.

Re: 50NL Middle Stack Donk... AA w/ terrible turn OOP???

dunno, cry i guess and raise, can't see a fold to a bet here nor a check/call

Re: no 3 betting KK against tightie.... $25 FTP

your thinking seems a bit results oriented but i understand you are trying to maximize ev... that being said its difficult to tell what he is calling with here, especially on the flop. He might be...

Limping on the button

limping on the button
When and why would this be done?
Sklansky talks about it as a good strategy against two inferior players with a hand like J 9s because it "plays well after the flop"
Thoughts?

Re: Always get that perfect river

i think that you just have to accept that AA/KK is part of his range if youre going to play it like this. Also, it seems impossible to deduce that he almost definitely has AA/KK and tailor your play...

Re: Starting to read poker books

i read sklansky's no "limit hold'em theory and practice" and found it very helpful
he mentions tournament play here and there but it is heavily geared towards cash games. it costs $30 though

Re: standard?

i probably would've bet the flop to build the pot some or win it there with a draw, but checking looks alright

Re: am i a maniac?

i see your point but i might call that down, depends on stats etc., then again i would've reraised you pf with QQ then folded to a reraise, (assuming your stats are good) if that had happened, THEN...

Re: am i a maniac?

definitely because of the result man, if you could've seen his cards would you play 8 7 against Q Q?

Re: am i a maniac?

if i were simultaneously looking at pron and playing, this is exactly how i would play it, otherwise i might call pf then with that flop, raise. either that or fold pf b/c youre obviously behind

Re: kk much action

why check the flop? not really a criticism, mostly just curious. I would've bet the flop fwiw but you didnt post stats so dunno

Re: 200NL Bad River Card

based on his stats and therefore his range, fold
the only way this is a call is if he is bad enough to think he is slow playing his two pair or something ridiculous like that. but you would have to...

Re: Flopped flush vs 2

hard to say man, probably c/f cause if he bets youre most likely fooked. This might be far too speculative esp given his stats but i doubt with the 10 or Jc would he think he had the best hand even...

Re: Flopped flush vs 2

so pot is $64 unless i screwed up
i would bet enough to make calling with Ac unprofitable, becasue that is definitely in his range, especially since he seems not scared of the flush on the board. He...

Re: JJ get minraised on a ragged board

get it in on the flop imo, hes less likely to call a shove on the turn with a worse hand if a scare card falls, tbh not really sure what we call a scare card in this situation, but principle still...
