Re: Smells like Teen Value...

Didn't mean to connote anything negative about playing it passively; it's just that earlier in the thread someone said raising the flop would avoid a difficult situation, and others pointed out that...

Re: Smells like Teen Value...

So basically with his tight raising range, the action, and the board, the only hand that he could have that you beat is KQ; and given his range and the nature of the hand, it's unlikely that he has...

Re: Smells like Teen Value...

I've been reading small stakes for a few weeks now and have played my way through the micro stakes, and I've yet to get good at reading this type of situation.

Isura: You say that our hand is face...

Re: do you call this flop overbet shove

you induced the bluff, call.

That made me think, if hero C-bet and villian pushed, how would you feel here? I've been in situations before where I have pocket pair like...

Re: 3 bet QQ OOP PF. flop action

[ QUOTE ]

So basically, I'd bet the flop and shut down if called. c/c flop might get a bit more value from worse hands, but it also invites a river or turn bluff that you might not be able to...

Re: 3 bet QQ OOP PF. flop action

What is the villian thinking when you check-call on a king high flop in a 3-bet pot? With my style of play, I'm typically not check-calling there without something good, and some percent of the time...

Re: Ugly negative freeroll

Just saw that you are sure this is a calling station fish. Well even those types of players can surprise you.

Think about this: If a player truly only smoothcalls with the nuts, does that mean...

Re: Ugly negative freeroll

How many hands are those stats over? It takes even longer for street aggression to converge than total postflop aggression.

The opponent plays alot of hands, which makes his aggression deceptive....

I disagree. I think someone's more likely to shove AK and call with AA,KK and try to extract after the flop. No?

Re: Deep spot against fish

Oh, and about your question: I like a raise on this turn. His turn lead is hard to decipher but there is a very good chance you are still a favorite.

Re: Deep spot against fish

This is a tough spot.

First of all, noting that he likes to make small bets into the aggressor with flush draws doesn't seem relevant here since he's technically the aggressor.

Narrowing his...

Re: NL25 - representing a set with 55

You don't need to fold preflop when he raises you because you're getting 17.3 to 1 implied odds which is fine for set mining.

Flop donks: I don't know of any flop donk that I personally take as...

Re: Stealing in 2BB pots

I'd say this is very opponent dependent. At some tables I find people who cling to the weirdest hands or are willing to c-r in air in UR pots (though the latter is obviously a special occasion.)

Re: I has a full house

If he's got a full house over you, I'd almost gladly pay to see it. I know it's tough to think what he could be doing it with, but I don't think you showed your hand's strength with your sizing on...

Re: $25: Low PP vs active opponent

That's what the post became, a thought about maximizing e.v., but it originally looked like a question about calling down vs. an active villian.

My obs. on the OP's line is as relevant as the...

Re: $25: Low PP vs active opponent

Because of the twist in your OP, I'm not very clear on Hero's (your opponent) stats or reads during this, but I am going to observe that you're pretty tenacious about pointing out that a good thought...

Re: 50NL BVB made a boat vs. possible flush....extraction

I like to check-raise the river. Whatever he's called you with at this point is either helped by the flush completing it or not. If he's helped by the flush he will bet the river (and if he...

Re: Results

It depends on the river bet size, but I typically wait till I see more than 20 hands to call w/A high on a river even if I check the turn and river weakly. The problem with loose players is that...

Re: NL10 - AK oop makes TPTK

Pretty standard hand. Might bet a little less on flop but the pot size on the turn basically means any bet is an all-in. You might decide to check to give hands like QQ/JJ/TT a feeling of comfort...

Re: NL50 - When in doubt, shove !

Hmmmm that makes sense; my cbetting is normally 2/3-3/4 with whatever holdings I have so I figure it's pretty balanced, but I can see how this is a situation where betting pot won't give away...
