Re: Marathon Training
I just ran my first marathon so I can give some (hopefully) useful advice.

Re: Nova/BM training/weight loss
[ QUOTE ]
I was pretty disgusted by that episode. Nova is supposed to be serious science show and there was about 2 minutes of science content in that whole program. Hell even the training that the...

Re: $200 reward
My site looks good due to it's variety and freshness. They won't ship vegetables and fruits that are out of season, which is a GOOD sign.
As far as weekly diet goes, I don't know what you like,...

Re: bigbabyjesus\'s marathon training log
I did pretty much the same thing you're doing, starting from basically the same level running-wise. I was in pretty decent shape from biking, but due to a nasty crash I had to stay off the bike for...

Re: what to eat before a long run?
Really for 5 miles it doesn't matter all that much in my opinion. Assuming you don't run often (and it seems like you don't or this bet would be easy money for you), make sure not to eat too much at...

Re: Chicago Marathon
I'm kind of in the same boat. I can average a 7:30 over 6 miles without too much trouble, but since I've never done any distance, I have no idea how my body would hold up with any pace close to that...

Re: Chicago Marathon
I'm actually training for Chicago as well. It will be my first, so every week and every long run has been an interesting test to see what happens to my body. Although I was in shape from road...

Re: Bostonians.....what to do in Boston?
When you start in Woburn/Anderson (I think this is the only stop in Woburn), you want to be looking at the 'inbound'. When you're in Boston getting back to Woburn, you'll want the 'outbound'.

Re: Bostonians.....what to do in Boston?
Just a FYI, the commuter rail that you'll (most likely) take into the city stops running pretty early. It's even earlier on weekends, so be careful not to get stuck.
