Re: 50NL, we has a gutshot, we hits a gutshot, river plan?

[ QUOTE ]
Due to dynamics I didnt cbet - normally its a cbet I agree but he was going to reraise big here if I lead it and I wouldnt have been able to call for the gutshot.

Re: AA on 4 straight board

Grunch - absolutely everything that wasn't already ahead got there...[censored] spot.

However, you're pretty much committed when you get half the smaller stack in on the flop. I check to induce...

Re: What to do with a possibly dominated Ace.25nl

Call. You're only getting called by a better hand if you raise in most cases. 1/2 pot turn for value vs. random pp if checked to. Expect villain to fold.

Re: Is this stacktown, or baluga?

Meh, its a wet board so stacking off here is ok given read but it is a 3-bet pot, a min raise, and you posted it so you've probably been beat. Nonetheless, 2 draws on the board not counting the...

Re: With hands like this, am I just pot, pot, potting?

Your line is fine. Other line that is fairly standard against aggro opponent is stack-a-donk.

Re: nl 10 top set c/red deep

How many hands on the read. He's not very aggressive and I wouldn't just shove as you'll minimize your winnings and maximize your losses.

There are alot of hands that could do this to snap off...

Re: My two \'rules\'

I am usually fine with bad play. My limit however is losing AA to the same villain w/in 2 hands at 2 separate tables. The first he pushes over my 3bet with 55, he rivers str8...second he is short...

Re: NL25 - 3bet pots OOP. I am completely lost.

Here's a link to my advice. It's certainly not consensus here and I'm told people don't 3-bet light so take it for what its worth.

Adjusting to 3 betting light...

Re: Bottom set faces 3bet from short stack on the flop.

Putting in a raise is standard. A couple cards can kill your action. You have a redraw to a better hand if villain is ahead or makes a str8. If your all in or commited, you can't make a mistake if...

Re: Making move

Grunch - Making move - first response ugh. You need a good read.

I don't think you're able to move villain off of any overpair. Villain will put you on AK and call with any overpair. Even 99...

I am gonna start posing a ton more hands where I win. I am sick of all this. "I think he has a set. fold. crap".

Re: **Official uNL Microbrew thread: September**

Last night I played my worst ever stretch of horribly bad play. Over a few hundred hands, I drop 5 BI's. I kicked it off a little gem of a hand where I try to bluff a calling station in a multiway...

Re: 50NL; AsQh on ddd flop; villian check/calls; leads pot on turn

Reraise is std here IMO.

Your 2nd question is interesting. Villains line could be a call-cbet and try to take it away line. I can't put him on a hand but maybe 22-33, TT,JJ, whiffed AK,AJ,AT,...

Re: donk opponent, flopped open ended straight/flush draw, what to do

As I said semi-bluffing. But, you haven't got there yet. If they won't fold their pair and will pay off when you hit, don't go aggressive.

22 beats 9 high last time I checked.

Think of it...

Re: donk opponent, flopped open ended straight/flush draw, what to do

Ugh...you are semi-bluffing a calling station with 9 high. Horrid.

Call with odds, make your hand, value bet. Collect monies.

Don't bluff with 9 high even though you have a gazillion outs vs....

Re: QQ overpair meets heavy flop action

The pot is big and you are now committed. You have an overpair. FD is big part of BB range here with PF action minimizing the chance of AA,KK.

Push to protect your hand. A lot of worse hands...

Re: Calling riverbet with underpair

300 hands at say 25% VPIP and raises half those hands...you do the math. At 300 hands with sample size of >30, you know he's calling the flop more than not. I'd factor it in here.

I tend to use...

Re: Calling riverbet with underpair

Need a good number of hands for the sample size to be good (i.e. datamined). On 150 hands, don't base your decision on this.

Re: Calling riverbet with underpair

Re: river bluffs and PSB. If villain wakes up on river its usually a donked 2 pair ftw. There are exceptions such as busted flushes and possibly on paired boards. Figuring out is read dependant.

Re: AK - please teach me when to fold

You're out of position and pretty deep. With 100 bb stacks and FD possible, this is OK. Otherwise, you're not looking to play a big pot with AK here, especially OOP. Slow down on the flop...once...
