Re: PokerStars say you can break their rules

/images/graemlins/smile.gif @ Sevenfold

FWIW I am also quite impressed by the general integrity with which Stars conducts its business.

Re: PokerStars say you can break their rules

[ QUOTE ]
poker rules are arbitrary and are always subject to interpretation and the discrpency of the adjudicator.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's not strictly true. The rules regarding which hands win are...

Re: PokerStars say you can break their rules

OP's point is that the response to such an violation should be explicit, and not arbitrary. This policy seems arbitrary to me; either you are permitted to announce your putative hand holding are you...

Re: 33$: 2 standard situations with AKs. is this line the best in sng?

AK can be a bitch... I don't see too much wrong with your lines on either hand, I like to raise AK OOP vs. limpers or IP vs. single limpers.

Re: sharkscope

Which raises a privacy issue, but I guess you have to agree to its terms before playing, and in general I think this is their only option in terms of effective security measures... still curious as...

Re: \"Any site that agrees to that policy ..... will be permitted\"

They must have seen this coming... there are a couple of reasons for PS to make this move. The main one is that it needs to live up to its role as a fair and reputable establishment, both to continue...

Re: (39) Anything standard here...river 2-pair

I don't see him re-raising into a pot he's got no commitment to with garbage. If he had an overpair he'd probably just call here. There's no reason to call this imo.

Re: sharkscope

Didn't know about this. I don't think there is any way for Stars to tell whether you have Sharkscope open in your browser, but then I could be mistaken. Any hardcore cheaters can easily run their...

Re: QQ, 4 bet or call? $55+5 stars full table

If you're button I like pushing; too many donks see a 3-bet from the button as a steal attempt. With no read and this betting pattern I think he's a donk and his range is probably 88+, AJ+ (sometimes...

Re: ($33) KK, I raise UTG, call-fest then scary flop - plan??

Just to be clearer on the logic of checking the turn: would this actually increase EV by getting hands that might fold to a turn push to lose their remaining chips on the river; since made hands will...

Re: ($33) KK, I raise UTG, call-fest then scary flop - plan??

I think it's fine. I don't mind pushing this turn, you have a draw to the 2nd nuts if he's actually hit his flush, otherwise any ace he has is negated by the fact that an ace gives you the straight....

Re: ($24) Calling down with 2nd best flush BvB. Line check

Gotta bet out on the river I think; a little over half his stack is good, it's often a good enticement for a weak player to push it all in.

Re: ($27) Shortstacked on bubble, big stack in BB, trash hand

I'd say he's calling with almost ATC if you are pushing the last three hands. I almost always throw this hand. Still have three more hands to double up on...

Re: 27s, AK as a CL, is it a bad call?

I agree that's a better range. Even with QQ, KK, AA removed (and AQ included) this is marginally -EV.

Okay so the lesson is fold AK in this spot, unless villain is a complete maniac.

Re: 27s, AK as a CL, is it a bad call?

Chances are pretty low OP will have a pushing hand, so I can't see this as a great reason to push a hand you'd rather have action on with only 3 opponents left. The two big hands, AA & KK, he...

Re: 33$: TP at river..faced with RR: slowplayed nuts?

I'm happy just checking/folding this down. Betting the turn gets you nothing but trouble, potting the river is really bad. Pretty much nothing that you beat calls you. Fold to the reraise.

Re: $60 L1 AK flops nut flush draw

Yeah any effective bet you can make will commit you anyways, so just open-push. The check-push is less appealing, since the same commitment argument applies to any of your opponents, you don't have a...

Re: $60 L1 QQ overpair, turn is K

Very tough to isolate his range with no read. He's played and won a hand already, apparently. Could this mean he's loose? Too little information...

He could have: AJ+, with at least one spade (but...
