"Fastest" time-complexity wise with lots of numbers and bound range would be Radix Sort, assuming no previous knowledge of data being sorted (which allows more special case sorting).

But, the pump you showed a picture of has an auto-hold feature. Perhaps it was broken or something, but that metal clip right in front of your gas cap will hold the pump on if you push it...
