Re: Poker Theory: Position and Blind Defence

I don't think those numbers are bad. Mine are 90 and 76, over 102K at $100NL and I'm not too worried.

As already mentioned, speculative hands are OK to play from the blinds but, imo, only if...

I'm pretty sure I'm behind when CO raises and it gets called twice...

Yeah, not sure I would have made the call PF with that hand myself (I...

Re: AA - Comments please

I appreciate that you kind of knew you were going to get some $hit for the PF raise, but that's precisely what landed you with a more difficult decision on the flop (that and the small bet on the...

Someone mentioned above that there are regular session reviews. Is there somewhere I can get my name down for one of these?

I'm not really looking for poker pals (lol)...

Re: TowerGaming FR multitable

Not using PT and PAHUD (in my case, GT+)?! You must be joking! I have big problems with Ongame software myself, even just 6-7 tabling at 1/2 and 2/4. I get booted from tables on a regular basis...

Re: Making a stand against a maniac - 77 faces big bet on the river

So just fold here (and wait for a stronger hand) or just call, keep the pot smaller and then hope to get a favourable flop/board? Probably the latter, I guess.

I also hear what Ryan is saying. ...

Re: NL100: Trips on river, call push?

Call and win some, lose some. Totally agree with Eureka that Villain probably isn't fearing a big Ace too much and I think he probably has ATs-AQs often enough too justify the call. AK is clearly...

200NL Making a stand against a maniac - 77 faces big bet on the river

Villain is 32//20/2.6 over 600 hands. I don’t know the guy particularly well, but one thing he does about 85% of the time is to put in over-sized raises, in late position, attacking several limpers...

Re: Note taking = Really, really boring...

Yeah - I didn't mean that all my notes are short-hand. I've got some more detailed stuff in there, too. I agree, they're really good for building up a picture, whereas the shorter stuff is useful...

Re: 50NL: How much to raise?

Assume a split pot and just call? lol

I think I would have raised to around 30-35 myself (min raises suck) but I can definitely see the merits of shoving.

Still, even a calling station will...

Note taking.

Learn the importance of taking notes, especially taking notes on regulars in your games.

Your notes should be structured in a way that you can quickly glance at them and...

Re: Aaargghh - AA on the button and some idiot just shoved on the turn

Very nice analysis, mate. I basically agree and, although I'm not sure I managed to get to quite that level of detail in the 20 seconds allowed, I folded.

p.s. Note to self: Increase re-raise...

Re: Aaargghh - AA on the button and some idiot just shoved on the turn

Really? So if the range is between doubling his raise (ie another $28, making it $46 to go) or raising the pot (ie another $42, making it $60 to go), what's standard? I've clearly been missing...

Re: NL50: two hand faces flopsmash from tighie, am I good often enough?

lol - nice move! With nothing invested in the pot, and considerably less than the nuts, I think you have to fold here against someone with these numbers.

You could possibly call if you had top...

Re: nl100, KK IP 3bet pot, broadway flop

I'd check and take the free card - like you say, that flop stinks and you seem to have a good read on your oppo. A 9 might be good for you too of course (although I wouldn't get too excited) and,...

Re: Top two pair (AQ) in early position gets raised on the river

Just to avoid too much focus on if/how to play AQ in EP (suited or not) utg, I'll say now that I would usually ditch it in the first three spots. I played it here purely for a bit of...

Re: 50nl - Does this look like a bluff to snap off?

I think I'd fold like the pussy I am without more of a read on the guy. I'd also like to know that Villain is capable of big bluffs before calling in a spot like this. Once you know that, I guess...
