Re: Review: Read \'Em and Reap

I'm one of those internet players (not very good but a small winner) who isn't very good at reading players when playing B&M. Like most things I have improved with time but I'm not a natural. Of...

Re: Am I Chasing a Rainbow Here?

I have encountered this issue a few times playing at Crown casino in Aus. I'll make two points on the matter.

1. What Doyle said on this was stated a long time ago and the game has changed in...

Re: Still waiting for books from Conjelco

Hah, it arrived this morning as I was going to work (Monday 30 in Australia). Not bad considering I ordered it on about the 24/25.

Re: Still waiting for books from Conjelco

Hmm, according to the US Postal Service track & confirm results my book was moved out of Foreign Customs on July 28 ... I wonder if it will be delivered tommorow - Monday 30?

Here's hoping.

Re: Poker = A legitimate profession - Help me PROVE please?

Try likening it - that it being professional poker - to being a professional golfer (or any other sport). You are good at something and you get rewarded for that ability. It's true as PoorTom said...

Bad Beat on a Bad Day

It's funny how fate seems to kick you when you're down (I know it doesn't but anyway, this is my beat!). In a session that wasn't going very well this hand sent it into the pooh zone.

Re: $200NL B&M: KK

The Villain had about $195 and I had him covered. The Blinds were $2 and $3.

Re: $200NL B&M: KK

He wasn't a total Rock but his demeanour/banter made me as sure as I can be about his holding - just a bit cross at myself for not trusting my instincts, especially now that I think they are...

$200NL B&M: KK

Hi guys

Basic question: does anyone lay down KK preflop when the stack sizes are still at 1 buy-in or less? Today I was playing in a casino and was dealt KK in the BB, the table had temporarily...

Re: My First time reading the No Limit section of Super System

The section on NL by Doyle Brunson is almost unchanged from V.1 to V.2. The changes in V.2 occur in the other games that are included (ie. Draw is out but Omaha8 is in etc.).

Re: 100NL Stat Evaluation: I admit it, I need major help.

I'll be interested to see how others interpret your stats - here is my 2 cents worth. You don't appear to be making enough from your big pairs. You have won with AA, but not enough, and your...

River Fold? $200NL on PP

I just played this hand a few mins ago on PP at the $200NL level. My opponent is an unknown (only logged about 15 hands against him). As you can see I Folded to his reRaise on the River. Despite...

AKo - did I play this badly?

I played this hand on PP about an hour ago. The Villain was running at 50/0/2.5 after only about 30 hands so I had little opponent specific knowledge to go on. Given that I played my hand passively...

Was this a good Fold?

I just played this hand on PP. As you can see I folded to an All-In reraise on the Flop. Do you think I made a good or bad Fold? And can you please tell me why?

Background info.: Our villain...

Re: SSHE Flop Concepts Application to NL?

[ QUOTE ]
Have any NL players read SSHE that could comment? I would guess that the top pair and overcard hands are probably over-valued then would be the case in NL, but I'm not sure?

Re: AK catches an A and gets reraised on flop.....

If you knew he was a LAG, why would you Call as opposed to Raise? A LAG type player will continue to place you under pressure on each street (with his drawing hands) so put the pressure back on him...

Re: 200NL - too weak?

This is a hard situation, but I don't think you can Check/Fold - if you are going to do that then perhaps you shouldn't play JJ in the first place. Why not Check/Raise and then Fold if you can't...

I can\'t believe I had a losing session!

I have just been playing some $400NL 6-max on Party and ended the session down $450. Do you think these two hands had anything to do with it? /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Avoid Trouble hands like KJ and don't try and steal-raise and/or bluff from obvious positions like the Button/SB and slow play AA/KK from these positions too! At least these were his rules according...
